Decision time: Should I start back on Opana ?

This weekend I went through hell for 29 hours by not taking my Opana script and then switched to Bupenorphine injectable (Buprenex).
My back pain is alot worse but I can still walk around, but in pain.
The problem is my head is so clear again. I have not felt this clearheaded ever since I started on the stronger meds like oxy and now Opana.
I can either have a clear head with alot more pain, or be a little foggy and have a very low pain level which will enable me to do everything I am used to doing ( I am a very active person).
I have 3 full bottles of Opana staring at me, and I cant decide what to do ?

If it were me and I had 3 bottles in my grasp I would incidentally be taking 'em.

aight if it isnt a matter of getting a script from a doctor then i'd do w/e you feel you need to day by day. if it was a question of what to get from the doctor for a script the opana no questions asked....especially while the good/normal opanas are still being made not that trf bs. if you feel like you have a lot of strenuous shit you have to do then take the opana but otherwise take the bupe. once you have that bupe in your system and its not a high dose (more than 2-4mg for most ppl) then you can take the opana make sure that if you do take JUST the opana for a few days then you wait till you get sick again or avoid that completly and when you take or opanas even if for a week strait dose a little bit of bupe daily also so it stays built up in your system so you can avoid having to go into wd's before starting to dose your bupe after an opana run. so to sum it up like TOG said don't hide it divide it! hope this helps : )

Alright I see...Go back and forth so I can save up the Opana ERs while they still are the good ones!

I think I just may do that and on the days when I am going to do some strenous stuff I'll take the Opana.
I'll definatly have to keep the dose as low as possible on the bupe so the Opanas will actually work.

The only thing I have to worry about is getting drug tested by my doc which he does randomly , and I am not sure if he tests for bupe or not.
I know the old drug tests did not test for bupe.
Anyone know if the tests now include bupe in it ?

in my experience if you can manage to keep your dose of bupe pretty low (bupe has always gone REALLY far for me, so i don't even have to do 1 mg a day to feel completely fine in-between using and my opana habit is pretty hefty) then even though you're on it, you'll still completely feel the opana on the days you decide to use it. in my experience, oxymorphone laughs in the face of buprenorphine and blasts right through it.

i also agree with the divide it idea that everyone's had, because while i don't get prescribed opana, i do get prescribed bupe and dividing the opana/sub is exactly what i do too. opana would legitimately rule my world if i didn't allow myself to take 3-5 day breaks in-between using it, and just using bupe those days. opana and the original oxys are the only opiate i've ever found that i had NO control over; if it's in my possession, i'm going to be doing it. so i have to watch myself with it, or everything in my life could go out the metaphorical window.

That clear headed feeling is something I love, man. Pain, not so much. Opana is one of the best pain meds out there, period. But, allot of people, including myself, find that they simply can't control it. I don't think there's a habit that I despise more. That is a fucking nightmare of a habit to carry around. I'd rather withdrawal from anything than to go through another Opana withdrawal. Shit sucks. Period. So, if you can control it, go for it. If not, put a stop to that shit now.

I am currently Rx'd subutex with a monthly urinalysis and I have to say I do not think my doc tests for sub. There was one month where I had used something and did not want to go in and piss positive so I got a friends clean urine which had no sub in it and used that and my doc never mentioned me not having sub in me. I'm not sure what test he uses but it has a strip across the bottom that has different indicators for what it tests for (at least 7). I would not suggest going in and risk pissing dirty for bupe as there are many different tests which test a variety of different things and the test I'm given my not be the same as yours.

On a side note the last time I went in I pissed dirty for morphine to which totally caught me off guard because I know I have not done any full agonist in a while. At first I thought he was joking with me but he did then show me the test. I was lost and I asked him if anything would cause a false positive as I have been applying for all kinds of different jobs the last couple months and I know basically everything besides fast food tests nowadays. He first mentioned poppy seeds and I was like bingo (fuck I knew that just wasn't thinking) so I guess I have to watch my poppy seed bagels which I love when I know I'm going to have to drop for whatever reason.

idk if your dr tests for bupe but i sure as fuck wouldnt chance my opana dr piss testing me and seeing bupe come up...he'd more than likely 99.9% say wtf do you need opana for then? and goodbye opana :'( you know your situation best just weigh out what you think is best and if the worst case scenario pops up which you would rather have. you said the bupe doesnt kill pain and allow you to lead as much of a productive lifestyle so i'd personally think its a no brainer and make sure i stayed on low dose opana or w/e dose a couple weeks before i knew i was going to my opana dr just incase all while drinking a bunch of liquids to help "clean out" the other time of bupe use or however you decide to go about it. there's no way in freakin hell i'd loose my opana scripts over some bupe but thats just me. good luck with w/e you decide....i'd personally really think this threw and make sure you had a backup just incase but thats just me and i like a plan b, c, d, etc...
