Lots of times the simple truth works wonders. Tell them you've got a problem, don't know where to turn for help, afraid of withdrawls.. and MOST- not all- Dr's will tell you that you need rehab instead of calling the law. They usually want to either help or stay out of it...I don't know most people can smell an excuse a mile away. Hope that helps.

Waddaya mean, your therapist busted you? You mean your psychological therapist? Like someone who's NOT a MD? I don't get it.

I am not really sure what happened, I mean how you got busted, or how serious it is, but could you say you lost the scrip so you had to get another one? Are these fraudulent scrips we're talking about? If so, you can't use that story.

BUT, if indeed you've been busted for calling in phony scrips, then you better come clean and say you got a problem, say you'll go to rehab if he don't call the police. Then, you actually have to go to a detox or something, sign yourself in. Stay for a little while, maybe you'll actually like it, maybe you'll actually get clean, who knows. If you stay for a few days, then leave, chances are the whole thing will blow over. If you manage that, don't EVER go back to that doctor again. Your amends to him will be to never ever show your face again!

Explain a little bit more exactly what happened, maybe I or someone else can help out.

I'm sorry,this sounds like it could be quite heavy.I'm in the UK so I can't help you with anything specific,but I'm in agreement with the guys above you might have to own up and plead for mercy.

Broken- it's really hard to help you when we aren't sure what happened. If you give us some detail, we may be able to help. Did you use more than one doc, call them in yourself, write them yourself, or what???

Argh i'd say i have severe pain somewhere or just tell the truth. I'd probably think up something very personal such as my penis hurts or I had ass sex and got injured. lol, but it probably wouldn't work.

IF this therapist is going to turn you in then, based on what kind of person they are I would just weigh your options. Try to get a feel for how they will handle the situation. I wish you luck. Sometimes honesty will set you free, and sometimes, it will fuck you over. But this person is a therapist and should have some pity for you and feel badly and want to help but I don't really know them that well. Maybe crying would help? I don't know exactly what the circumstances are so i can't really give you any good advice. I'm sorry. I'll be praying for you. Say you need help. Not jail help, compassion and somemoen who understands.

Ima have to second everyones posts so far. Just tell her the truth, your an addict. Now you may not actually want help, but saying that you want help, i would think would be a big gesture. actually want/need, but you kno. you kno personally, going to rehab, IMO isnt really that bad actually. Its kinda like a vacation from everything. The rules suck most of the time, and you wont be able to get high, unless you sneak it somehow, but it really isnt THAT bad. the worst part would be detoxing, and most places will make sure you detox in a hospital if they dont have a detox unit themselves. And if they do, sometimes they;ll give you subutex so its a lot better. Unfortunately many places wont give you more than some benzos while your detoxing, but fuck anyways... hopefully shes ok... hasnt posted in a while. Good luck broken.

How'd they bust you?
They may be obligated under the APA code of ethics NOT to report you, if it came out in a theraputic session.

Failing that, admit to your addiction, saying you need the Tabs to function, to feel like yourself. If you're BPD, that wouldn't be too far from tyhe truth and you could get off with a slap on the wrist of some real opiate treatment.

Just be glad it wasn't some CII narcotic.

i am under the care of a dialectal behavior center for BPD, therapists and pshrink all work together....so my therapists and i realize that i operate better and have a better quality of life when im on hydrocodone, as in not in pain and get the things that i need to do in life accomplished....so, they go to my pshrink (who had to give me subutex earlier in the year to get off dope) and tell him how much pain im in and that most drs dont like to give pain meds to someone so young (im 21), etc, he dosent really want to do it but he writes the scripts, gives me a weeks worth at a time

well, i also had a script from earlier in the week from my GP....those werent all gone, but i went ahead and took all the other rx's to a new pharmacy (their bottles are prettier, red w/ colored bands) and didnt even think about it

new pharmacy calls dr and tells him there are 3 drs who have written Lortab in howver long its been (the other is from gyno) but he tells them to fill his RX anyway

i was going to be confronted about it by him, and he's a stern little man from bangladesh, and i'm very sensitive about being called a junky by ppl who dont live in my head and know what i know about myself. (my dad does it all the time)

But i told my therapists the truth so they didnt make me see him yesterday...still looking for how to tell him though...im going to a pain dr as soon as i can (missed my apt today :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: )
so he wont have to write them any more, but i guess i just dont want him thinking that i'm...whatever i am, ya know?

An abuser? An addict? Why? Accept it. Jesus, embrace it. You do realize you're on a web site pretty much dedicated to the recreational use of opiates which everyone here is/was/will abusing and/or addicted to said opiates. Have fun walking into a pain clinic without documentation of an injury. Who's documentation you gonna use- the doc who knows your a junky? Sounds like a stupid idea. Gonna use some other doctors from two years ago? Don't count on it. What happened in the mean time? They're gonna wonder where you're getting the dope cuz they're gonna piss-test you. So, you're gonna go to a pharmacy with a 4th doctors script? They might call the cops right there.

What state do you live in? Many require triplicate scripticates- so the gov't is gonna know soon enough whats going on. Don't think they read them? That's what Limbaugh thought.

Get on Suboxone and quit fucking up.
