is there an easy way to integrate a mailbox/email system into opiophile.org? it would allow members to email back and forth, a whole inbox/sent/trash/drafts/etc... thing. does one already exist here and i just haven't stumbled on it yet? or would it be too much to maintain something like that, considering you guys do this in your spare time or whatever? i know the chat room takes away the need for an instant messaging system but an internal email system might be a nice way of talking directly with other members without having to publicly post your "normal" email address for the whole world to see.
just an idea. thanks for doing what you do.

Ever think it's a little presumptuous to ask for things like that when you don't contribute monetarily (and have been a member for a whole 9 minutes)?

i'm very sorry, folks. and yes, i guess that it is a little presumptuous, and maybe even a lot presumptuous to ask for things like that when i don't contribute monetarily and have been a member for a whole 9 minutes. i'll try not to make any more waves around here until i buy and/or earn the right to make said waves.
i honestly wasn't trying to ask the ops to do something that would add to their workload. i truly appreciate what they have done and are currently doing to provide this service to our community. i'm not 100% certain, but i'm pretty sure that this entire system with which we can read and post threads wasn't coded by the opiophile.org admin, but is a program with which they can offer this service to us. i know that this entails much maintenence and tweaking to keep it going, and i was simply wondering how difficult it would be for the admin to aquire some additional software, similar to what myspace.com has, that would allow it's members to email each other within this system. i understand that this would require even more maintenence and tweaking by the admin, but was simply asking if it was possible and/or desireable for the admin to try to do so.
again, i offer my apologies for any presumptuousness that i have displayed here and will try not to be presumptuous in the future. also, i'm sorry that i have not yet had the financial ability to donate any funds as of yet. i would like to do so eventually.
have a nice day, everyone.

To answer your Q the quickest and easiest way Jones is that yes........at one time as soon as you registered you had access to send and or receive as many PM's as you wanted to (private message) send to any other opiophile brutha and sista.
This was all fine and dandy and worked great for years until people started getting pretty ballsy with what they were starting to do, or should I say - with what they were starting to sell and or trade via the PM system.
The amount of people that were getting booted was getting outta control, so a couple of the admins of this site started doing a little bit of detective work. They started going thru banned members PM's and were deeply hurt at what they had found out. There was a lot of members who were obviously only here to abuse what so many of us call our home.
This made many of us very angry, cause if this site ever got shut-down due to a couple of stupid, goddamn, ass-fuckin-holio's who have nothing better to do than to trade, sell, and buy very illegal substances - OVER THE WEB NONETHELESS - when these people could just do the tiniest bit of research, and hit the streets up instead (with probably much better luck too!!) Well, then there would be hell to pay. It would be IP address pulling time, and the hunting season would most definitely be on!!........YEEEEEE HAAAAWWWWW.
Many of us here have invested years of our lives into this site, and consider it to be our sanctuary. So now you must earn the right to be able to send and receive PM's, and if you ever earn that right, it would be smart to know that they are not so private.
Wow, can you believe that was the short-and-sweet version?
Who wants to hear the long one..............anyone???????

Apology not accepted, please leave now and never return.........just kidding bro. The whole PM thing did get outta hand at one time, but that has been remedied, and you have nothing to be sorry about.
What I would do if I were you is to go to some free email site and open one up just for this site. Then go to your "User Options" and add in that email addy, and your all ready to roll. This way you are anonymous and safe. Then once you get the PM privilage, just drop the email you opened and your ready to roll..........Easy-peasy.....japaneasy
