I have a drug test coming up for pre-employment and I was wondering how long percocets would be detectable in my system. I'm assuming it will be a urine test.

edit: I had some vicodin last weekend, went without any all week, want to have 3 percs tonight though.

If it is just a standard urine analysis then oxycodone will not show up. The way opiates are detected is by finding morphine metabolites in your urine. b/c heroin becomes monoacetylmorphine, codeine is converted to some morphine analog also, these drugs will make you test positive for opiates. Drugs like oxycodone, hydrocodone, etc. are not metabolized into morphine or any of it's analogs and therefore are not detected.

(I am not sure if analog was the right word to use, but I think you guys will still get the idea.)

I'd wait 5 days or maybe 7 to be safe just incase you have a slow metabolism. Usually the drugs are out in 2-3 days but if it's a good job. I would be kind of paranoid and just abstain from any drugs period. Hopefully they won't do a hair follicle test or you're fucked. If it's just a job at burger king or something fuck it just wait 3 days or 4 but if it's a job at Apple or Microsoft or something big, wait a week maybe longer to be safe. If your not addicted why do you need to take them just wait till your working.
