Just a little poem about Swim's first (non pain related) time with vics...
My First Time Flying
Its not important, how those "get right pills"
came to me.
More at hand was the portent,
of their yearning, pure-white potency.
Still young. Newly broken hearted
and naive.
I swallowed.
Unprepared to leave this earth, still...
as close to ready as anyone can
really be.
As I waited, fear began to wane,
along with loss and the pain of
suffocating grief.
Warmed so quickly to that sweet rush,
and took my place among
the un-bereaved.
All sun, all light, all dancing
in the air, why, even the colors
were sounding out the gentle
grip of his hand...even the
seconds marked the fleeting
scent of her hair.
My body alive. Again.
For the first time.
Grounded now, but
floating 10 feet over-ground.
And it was all I could do
just to lay down.
Slowly caressing myself.
Slowly talking with God.
