in large doses it can have a weak codeine like effect but it can be dangerous as it has been known to cause seizures in high doses. don't go over 400mg

Can anyone verify wether or not tramadol affects blood pressure (raising) or heart rate in relativley low doses around 200 - 300mg ?!

Intresting subject as some note stimulant effects

there are some interesting, much stronger, analogues of tramadol
also I've read that combining tramadol with methadone is bad because the tramadol is supposed to act as a mixed-agonist/antagonist and cause lower levels of methadone; but I've mixed it before and not had ill effects.

I was taking around 8 50mg Tramadal and between three to five times a day about this time two years ago. i was VERY easily able to keep my opiate WD's at bay with this stuff, however I had a serious problem putting this shit down. Even after cutting my dose to 1 50mg a day, my WD's were outrageous.

That's when I went to the tea and then back over to bup.

I'll say at large doses, every now and then I'd definitely feel some nice warm feelings, but I could never compare tramadol to anything worth more than avoiding getting dope-sick. codeine is far more pleasant in comparison, plus cheaper if you know where to go.

I never had a seizure while i was on it, although i did read increasingly more and more reports on this until just recently, like within the last few months. Maybe tramadol users are starting to wisen up? (or they're switching their drug of choice...)

tramadol effects me pretty good. I like it in the long run compared to codeine. as a daily medicine. I dont seem to get so depressed compared to daily codeine.
it seems easier to keep my tolerance in check with tramadol as well.
tramadol metabolizes into compounds that are actually stronger than tramadol itself, it is those metabolites that actually cause the effects, only some 500 milligrams of tramadol are able to be metabolized by most people in a 24 hour period.

check out tramadols structure compared to effexor....it is almost the same!

tramadol does have some SSRI/SNRI properties so that would make sense I guess.

From my personal experience Tramadol sucks. I have taken around 250 mg at once and it just made me sick. My opiate tolerance is pretty high so for me it didn't help W/D just made it worse. It also isn't to be taken with certain muscle relaxers like Flexeril.

tramadol can "suck" as a recreational drug alone.
I find using three or more opiate agonists together however helps me keep tabs on tolerance, and allows for painless titration of dose....tramadol fits the bill perfectly for me, that and I can get a prescription for 200 a month for under a 100$.
using tramadol daily with poppy seeds, and kratom keeps me euphoric, pain free. Tramadol gives a high energy feel compared to codeine or daily morphine, which after a time starts to depress me.
I have used tramadol to come off of methadone and 100 plus milligram a day oxycontin habits with little pain, I still felt withdrawl, but I could still manage work and other responsibilitys.....and that is what it is all about for me......I love opiates so much that I want to be able to use them for life....so some concessions must be made, I cant go around using drugs that are stronger than my bodies own pain relievers (morphine) and expect to not hit a brick wall at some point.
I dont recommend tramadol for recreation, but for maintenance, pain relief, daily regimines etc it can fill the bill.
note also that tramadol has some other interactions with serotonin and dopamine levels, and may aid some with Add and depression.

Jesus. That would explain why Effexor withdrawals felt like mild opiate withdrawals... of course, I was coming off something like 325mg of the stuff daily. Whoah.

you too huh? isnt that a pleasant suprise?......withdrawl from a antideppressant that some DR's give specifically to thwart depression due to opiate abstinence......
I got to kick effexor and dope at the same time in Jail, sick and yellow with hep b too to boot. I was pretty sick.

I like the effects of effexor when using sporadically.
