question about flexeril

I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing, whomever has experience with this med, at what dosage do you feel it personally affects you?...
I have taken a few at a time and swear feel no affect from it at all !! When prescribed this dr was stressing that 'this is a very strong muscle relaxer, so no driving, yada yada, be VERY careful'....i have taken double the prescribed dosage and cannot feel any affects from it...i wonder if it has somthing to do with opie tolerance thing or just that I havent taken enough.
Would love to hear what dosage others take that are on this med.??

Opaite tolerance wouldn't have anything to do with it; it's just a weak med. Double the required dose probably wouldn't give you a buzz; maybe 4 or 5 times would do it. I think I would stick to the Opaites myself, Flexeril isn't a very good intoxicant at all. Good to use for WD though.

I figured it was really weak...i think I will just keepem for dreaded wd's but even at that im glad to kinda get a feel for what would be required for some 'relief'...its just the way the dr acted about it..LOL...was like, be careful driving cuz its so strong..LMAO..yeah RIGHT ! i knew it wasnt but thought i should have felt SOMTHING off a double dose..but anyways....

Nothing good to get a buzz off of but then you didn't say you were looking to get high.I'd say they may help you sleep if you take them at bed-time but I would double or triple that dose myself.Only because you need 2-3 to get to sleep IMO.

Agreed .....worst muscle relaxer ive ever had for sure ! I just want to make sure instead of wasting them when taking them next time, I take enough for full effect (and they are the 5 mg ones) to help w/relaxation and such..maybe theyd be better combined with xanax? hmmm. Just want to make sure its not gonna be harmful by taking more than prescribed mainly the point of this question.

Yeh, years ago i was prescribed flexaril. I tried to get high from it, being the dumbass i am. But nothing. Though you will notice one effect. It will make you un bearably sleepy if you take it during the day at high doses. Yeh, it suckd for a high. But maybe next time ill save em for w/d as you all say.

We call Felaril/Cyclobezaprine "Drinking Enhancement Pills."

For example, back at the peak of my fraternity days, it would take me about 12-18 beers or half a litre of 80 proof Vodka to get the night going. I seriously had 200 dollar bar tabs just to catch a buzz.

If I took a Cylone before or during the drinking binge, I could be wasted -and I mean full on violent, passive-agressive, Let's Get Into a Fight with a cop wasted - off of five beers.

So, if you want a Flxie buzz, I suggest yo try it with a cocktail or eight.

I love flexerils. i love em. swingin a hammer all day, chase em with some shitty albertson's Vodka, lay down and feel myself melt a little bit. Not good for a head high. Just a Jello-ish feeling. skeletal muscles sinking into the bed. plus i usually dont get hangover when i take em. cant explain why

1st time I took Cyclobezaprine was for my back so there I am laying in bed, I had to get up to go to the bathroom, but I couldn't, I couldn't make my body move, it was so weird, I almost pissed my pants, I had to roll off the bed and crawl in to the bathroom. It effected me that bad, I got no buzz from it, just the non use of my limbs. wow the mdma is starting to kick in, I feel weird.....:D

I also got the major "puffy eyes" side-effect, the following morning, after even a smallish dose in the evening (couple 10mgs). Not a pretty sight to wake up to... esp when you already fell like someone pummelled the hell out of your ability to move those voluntary muscles. Bastards.


Never had the puffy eyes, just the un-use of my arms and legs, and the uasual missing of a whole day after that,

this is what xanax does to me though!! TOTAL knockout with amnesia when i awake in the morning..i have to take it, take it every day and night at prescribed dose but it always erases my memory..i wake up in the middle of the night kinda feeling like i might have overslept only to discover its still middle of the night...ummm like right now, why im up so late..lol..xanax always makes me feel that way though.
when going through wd i can pop those babies like nothing else and it helps very little...wish the xan had such a great affect going through wd though, might take the edge off *maybe* but still damn RLS kicks my ass every time no matter how much of anything I take to try to stop it.
Xanax=carry over into next day for me period..and it feels funny...ever have those dreams where you feel like your falling and you jerk awake? so weird. yup good ol benzos :)

they come in either a 5mg or 10 mg tablets ....thinkin im correct on this ...im not aware of them coming in a stronger dose but could be wrong.

I agree with everyone here, they aren't a recreational drug. I was told by my doc that I was taking them the wrong way. First you take them on an empty stomach, then an hour later eat a heavy meal and BOOM! A little while later, off to la-la land. And, any muscle pain you had you can say bye-bye to.

Yes, I had the 10mg and doubled or tripled, too. (But I was also taking Elvis-fist fulls of different pretty colors and shapes, so yeah, my memory of the whole bizarre episodes are fleeting to non-existant. To say the least.)

Mixing them with 2mg Xanax, on of my personal faves, is not good on the memory/functioning. On top of 240mg morphine and a sprinkling of ambien and/or the dreaded kpins. In all fairness, it was probably the cocktail combo that did it, and I steer clear of that now. Just my morphine and xanax (or the ambien, alternately.) Tank you very much. Hope that helps.

But again, they do help with those cramping legs.

When I first started taking them, one would knock me out for 16 hours easy. I took them as needed for sleep and muscle relaxation. I still would never take them during the day but they definitely don't put me to sleep for as long as they used to. They were the only bottle of pills in my medicine cabinet that would stay full. Then, I noticed if I let them expire, I could take like 5 and it would be like a sleeping pill without the hangover. My stash of those actually got looted from my house in New Orleans. I haven't used anything since I started methadone in Feb.

No, no, no. What I said is mixing them is NOT good on the functioning/memory (just that xanax is one of my faves). Deff don't mix too many CNS depressants or you'll get possibly fatal respiratory depression. Be very careful.

When I was doing that (mixing lots of them together), I just didn't know any better and luckily never died. Just sheer luck.

Opies, benzos, muscle relaxers... as some one said before... is not 1 + 1 + 1 = 3, but more like 1 + 1 + 1 = 6 or even 9. They potentiate each other and really kick it up quite a few notches, much more so than taking any of those alone.

Ok karen thanks for this advice...i know not to over do it and usually err on the side of caution to the point of OCD, as many of you seeing my postings can see..lol..i overanalize things and look them up...paranoid a bit. sometimes when on a nod i will freak out thinking that i might have overdid something when in fact i was doing something 'just right' and the new feelings scared me. I know to be careful with xan. but my body is so used to it, i really have to remind myself how powerful it really is...i just have seen on here a few mentions back and forth every so often about flexeril and have a whole bottle of the little mg ones and was wondering what i was missing...lol...

This was like 10 years ago and I had zero tolerance for any kind of pill.......so yeah, I only took one or two and off to sleep I went. Happy Friday!! :D

first, sorry all, i read only the first post.

for me, flexeril is extremely variable, and tolerance grows rapidly. that said, after months of not touching it, sometimes a single pill will rock me hard. other occasions given the same break, 3 pills will barely have an affect.

The first time i used flexeril i took 8 5mg pills......
i just got really really pissed off at everyone!....
but then i took 3-4 of them and popped 4 vicodins....
and i felt GREAT!
