Does anyone know how much it would take? I know that tylenol included in these meds could really mess things up as well. Was taking 8 10/300 norcos a day for a few years for chronic pain. I know that has the smallest tylenol amount out of all the hydrocodone strains and tramadols have no tylenol. ANyway, just trying to give all the information.

Thanks for any replies.

Tramadol is a synthetic analgesic and although not an opioid, is thought to bind to opiate receptors. While it doesn't contain any acetominophen, the drug is thought to decrease the amount of prostaglandins produced. Prostaglandins are produced to protect the lining in the stomach. This is the same reason why antiinflammatories such as, Ibuprofen cause bleeding in the stomach or actually an ulcer. They decrease the amount of prostaglandins which leads to an ulcer as the stomach lining is broken down.

4000mg or 4 grams of acetominophen is the max amount that is safe to take daily. Although I do know many who take more than that daily without any complaints. It is often the amount taken all at once that causes liver damage. This why Tylenol overdoses are so popular. Tylenol can cause major liver damage when taken in excessive doses at one time.

My suggestion for those who are taking high doses of combination meds that contain acetominophen or Ibuprofen is to complain to your doc about stomach discomfort and ask if there are meds available without these drugs in them. Play dumb! Never a good idea to go in knowing too much about opiates when your trying to get pain meds!

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck? joking but seriously this will vary from person to person, but the general consensus is if you're going to be using either or both for a long time, it would be a good idea to take some precautions. start with CWE, find some preventative herbs or meds to help, and get your liver check out early and often. that's a good way to get hepatitis or cirhossis or some other deadly chronic disease.

i think a good suggestion that's already been made is: if you're going to get fucked up, find some stronger meds, perhaps some without APAP or ibuprofen, so you don't even have to worry about it.
