I have run out of my vicodin supply and I feeling really BAD.
The chills, nose running, running eyes, cramping, unable to sleep the whole nine yards.

Are there any tips that make this go a little easier?? Plus I still have to work, which almost seems worse than going to hell. I have tried to quit on my own, but the pain was too bad and I ended up in the ER room. But really how many times can I go there for the same issue???
Anyway, just thought I'd put it out there a see if anyone has gone through this.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Hey, you've come to the right place.

If I were you, I'd do a search on Poppy Seed Tea (for immediate relief) and then head on to find either a Doctor that prescribed Buprenorphine (another word to search for here) or even some online pharmacies if you're managing pain.

Candy is our moderator in this forum, she may have some suggestions.....

Let us know how it goes....

Hey tj, I know exactly what your feeling man and if it's any consolation , the worst of it usually only last 3-5 days. I know that isn't helping much now and it probably feels like it's going to take forever but it won't.Meanwhile, the withdrawl pains are so closely related to flu like symptoms that I found alot of the over the counter cold and flu medicine ( nyquil etc...) will actually help with the pain and the sleepless ness. But you will find out, each day that passes the next one will get a little easier.

Well it all depends on wether or not you are going to stp taking opiates. If you are just waiting to get your next supply I would call some friends and see what you can do, but if you are truly trying to kick them I would start but drinking lots of aqua . Also get your self some vitamins a multi vit will do the trick. Stay away from caffiene as i will make the chills worse, as for sleep you just got to bite the bullet , you should catch some shut eye in the 3-5 days.A dotox tea can help your liver flood some of the toxins and stick to yogurt and fruit , stay away from greasy food thay wont help.

I just went through methodone withdrawls so I know how you feel. Definatly multiple vitamins, (like the others have said before me) the poppy tea can really help but if you take it too much or 2 often you will just become addicted to that as well. Omega fattys helped out alot w/me, like said water, hydration is key in this. For the sleeplessness I would take tylenol PMs and chew the caplets up.4-5 of them and yes it tastes like shit but it takes effect faster and harder. I was also taking a otc sleep aid like unisom but it was the kind that wasNOT the same as benadryl. If you can get your hands on muscle relaxers that should help with the restless leg syndrome. Calcium/magmesium help to relax your body all around and also helps rebuild you receptors I think?Like said prior, eating healthy is a key componant in this process too.If you can afford fish the fatty acids in the fish help you2 rebuild the stuff upstairs. Not being able to sleep was the biggest problem for me. When all else failed me I would get some whisky or another sedating booze and mix it with ONLY 2 sleep aids. I would not suggest this except for the time when your about to go on a homicidal rage due to being dellusional from not sleeping in 4-5 days. If there is a doctor you feel comfortable enough to explain your situation to do it. They will probably prescribe a blood pressure medication called clonidine. The first time I took it , it helped with the majority of my symptoms and nocked me on my ass for three hours. I fell asleep a half-hour after taking it. Being here on Opiophile helped me more than any doctor could have with my detox and withdrawls. I have to say thank you to everybody that gave me advice and was sympathetic to my situation. THANX!!!!!! and good luck with your d.tox and withdrawls T.J. your in the right place.

I had a bad Vicodin withdrawl after a hernia surgery, and I was only on the stuff for 2 weeks.

Consuming some Heavy Liquor may help soften your withdrawl :D

alcohol consumption will help you to forget the W.D.s are there, and can even make them go away for alittle while, but when you sobor up it will most likely be alot worse being that booze dehydrates you, effects your liver that is already being taxed from your body purging toxins, and depletes your body of much needed nutrients during the D.T.s and withdrawls. I would not suggest this to help with the uncomfortableness but only as I said for a last resort to sleep.

When I end up withdrawing I would take 4 benadryl, 60 mg of DXM, 600 mg of Ibuprofen, and 1000 mg of Kava Lactones. I repeat this regiment a couple times a day and when it's time for bed I take 2000 mg of kava lactones, 8 mg of melatonin and a double shot of 100 proof vodka. I only use this for the first 3 - 5 days, then I just tough it out w/ nothing but 900 mg of kava lactones brocken up into three doses and the double shot before bed. This could be a bit hard on the liver, but it works. I always take a heavy vitamin regiment wether I using or not. Canabis can help with sleep but I find when I'm dope sick and get really baked it makes me extremly anxiouse and gives me a general burnt feeling. benzos and cyclobenzaprine are great as well as clonidine but these require a prescription and arn't always acsesible. Good luck.

Hi tj'Sounds like you already have gotten some great advice. Keep hydrated, that is especially important and if you cannot eat, just clear liquids. Benzo's are OK,(for those going through Methadone Withdrawls, it can increase the metabolism of the Methadone and some experience even worse symptoms. This is also helpful for those on Methadone as it can cause withdrawls even at a high dose)Try Benadryl for sleeplessness, which will also help if you are feeling nausea. If you are vomiting, try to avoid any medication until you stop vomiting and are able to hold down some fluids. Dehydration will only make you feel worse. Warm soaks, Ibuprofen, and rest(try some stretching and moving around as often as you can tolerate) this will help circulation. Let us know if we can be of anymore help and just hang in there!

I have used kratom to ween off of other opiates, very comfortably, I did not ween off of the kratom totally, but found that useing certian herbs and aminos in combination I could even drop the kratom dose significantly (50%) over a few days........kratom is no cure, but has some different effects than many opiates, it is also potent in its binding to the receptor sites, so is addictive in its on rite. I think the beneficial effects are from switching addictive compounds and then getting off of the replacement as soon as possible..kratom is easy to source these days, I used about 5$ worth a day and was comfortable.

Hi poppy!

Try doing a search on here, just click the search link and type in Poppy. There are alot of threads with great advice here at this site!!!

I've tried poppy seed tea, as well as pod tea, they both have worked very well, but I must caution you that each batch of tea is different, as the alkaloid content is different with every batch of pods or seeds.

Here is an informational site on Kratom http://www.sagewisdom.org/kratomguide.html

Check this one out for Poppy seed or Pod tea. :)
