Please tell me about Lexington,maintenance and detox in the USA

Hi all,Just wanted to know if Lexington narcotics hospital is still operating?Who do they take? Medical referrals or addicts coming through the courts?
You'll have to excuse my laziness I know I could have googled Lex,but I'm hoping for personal tales of Lex.Plus anything else about maintenance and detox in the US.Very grateful for any information in relation to paying for treatment,choices offered,time limits on treatment.The whole nine yards.Thanks.

The only time I heard about Lexington was in Burroughs Naked Lunch. There it was a alternative to jail time.
Maintenance is either methadone or suboxone. In the old days, the methadone clinic involved therapy, urine tests, lots of Federal rules (something about the average group millgram lowering ?) Lot's of rules.
Suboxone can be had at certain doctor's offices no need to go to a clinic, wait in line, be treated like cattle, etc. And the wd's from the sub are a lot less than from Methadone

Hey Nick,
If you don't mind me asking, is this for your own personal use or are you just doing research. Seeing as how you list your location outside of the U.S., seems a long way to go for treatment. I tried doing a quick search and didn't get anything that seemed to say that the hospital was still operating. I know it is mentioned by Burroughs and has some history with NA, but I don't know if still exists today and if it does it may be a part of their legal system that deals with addicts and those incarcerated. Just a guess, really don't know!

I would imagine you may need to do a google search yourself and see what you get!

Research,humm.Just for personal interest really.I'm a long term UK diamorphine addict,that's free pure H and I'm just fascinated by the many similarities and small differences between life in the Uk and the US.
