Hello all, hope I don't sound like an idiot asking this question, but here it goes anyway. I was wondering if there are any more good places on your body to shoot up into besides the middle of your arm?? I know someone will say just find a vein, but it doesn't seem that easy for me. So if anyone could tell me another popular spot on the body they use to inject into, let me know.
Thanks in advance guys.

The back of my hands is my favorite. It's not as obvious and the veins are nice. The back side of the arm works also, but it's a bit hard to get used to.

This is a tough question because we don't really know your body, so we can't know where you have good veins.

Hope that helps a little at least. Be safe!

Yeah totally depends on your body and how your veins rest on you. For me the two spots on the inside of my arms are great. I cant really see them, but when the blood is pumping hard and my veins are screaming, "Feed Me Kevin, FEED ME!!", then they pop up pretty good in certain spots.

The next best spot for me is the vein that pops out on the inside of my wrist - that bugger really pops out!

Why are you asking about other places? Can you not hit the crook of the arm? is it too visible if it marks up?

I havent had much luck hitting the very large and visible ones on the back of my hands - I guess they roll or something. I swear, I go right in on it and nothing. And fuck that spot hurts!

Finding injection sites can be hard, especially if you have bad veins. The antecubital site, which is the site where the arm bends, the inside of the elbow, and there are usually a few good sites there. You can go a bit higher up and look around on the bicep. Also below the elbow on your forearm is a good place. A vein runs up along the inside of your wrist up the forearm. The back of your hands is a good place, although they may roll or hurt as someone said. THe best sites are on the arms. Using your feet or legs is risky and many will start to use their feet when they have nothing left on their arms. This is not the best place to inject as circulation is not as good in your lower extremities. You also want to rotate your sites if you can. Try not to use the same sight each time you use. To help get the most out of your veins, use only a new needle if you can each time. Using a dull needle will lead to scarring and you will lose those veins quicker. If you should miss a shot and get a bruise, apply ice immediately to prevent more bruising and this also helps keep down inflammation at the site. If you miss and inject your shot, put heat on that area so the fluid you injected into the tissues get absorbed faster. This will also help to prevent scarring and prevent abscesses. And always try to use clean techniques. Abscesses are ugly and can leave some nasty scars and you don't always get an abscess at the site of injection. They can appear anywhere. Make sure to clean the site where you inject to prevent infection. Try doing a search on this site. I have posted some links regarding injections and sites. Should be easy to find.

I ALWAYS GO IN THE NUT SACK - very inconspicuous. jus' kiddin'

yup, the lady is right about new needles. Damn, when you use the same one several times, it's like it still seems sharp, you know and then I'm like damn! I can't hit nuthin' . So, I unwrap another one of my precious 3ml BD syringe with 22 gauge 1 inch detacheable needle (nice) - only got two left. It's sorta a pain in the ass to go and get 'em. I have to lie and say it's for my cat, who needs vitamin injections IM. They buy it and I've been going to the same Rite Aid for like six months, so they know me.

Anyways, switched to a new rig and bingo! That is the best advice.

New needles.

Hey Savagephish, thanks for the things you said, I really do appreciate it and it is nice to know that I can help the members of this site.

Ya know, I have been there myself, so the experience I share is not only professional, but personal. I do remember those days of using a match book to sharpen points. Believe it or not! And poking around with a dull needle not only causes scarring and a dozen pinholes or more, but causes a lot of frustration. And, we all know, when your sick the last thing you want is to spend your time poking around.

It is just a good idea to start with good habits and a clean technique and spending some time to get your equipment helps to support those good habits.

Just the other day I spent some time talking will a lady who had this huge abscess. It must of covered a 12 inch area on her leg and was at least 6 inches wide. She was pretty obese, which most likely only added to her problems, but this was one of the ugliest abscesses I have seen in a while. It didn't take me long to figure out why. Her fingernails were really dirty and long, her hands dirty, she smelled and I knew that most likely it was her lack of personal hygiene that caused this problem. She said she used alcohol swabs, but that does nothing if you don't take the time to wash your hands and use clean equipment. It is just as bad as the folks who use the same standing water to rinse and cook with. You cannot inject with water that has sat uncovered and re-used by different people and I have known a few who do this.

My point is that if your going to inject, take the time to wash your hands and keep your equipment clean and get new rigs. It really does not take that much time or effort. Hell an abscess will be more work and really not worth skipping few steps to be clean.

Anyhow, I do really appreciate all the kind things you guys post. It really does mean a lot to me and I do enjoy doing this and I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say.

Everyone have a great day!
