caapi extract and mimosa hostilis blocking opiate receptors?

swim had a very intesnse harmala/dmt trip last night and now cant seem to get so much as a buzz from any opiates today, i've never heard of such thing effecting opiates in this case pods but it seems to be the only explination, a friend of swim had tea from the same batch and has about the same tolerance and got very nice from them but swim isnt feeling a thing even tho his pupils are constricted very much . anyoen have any clues?

well that was odd, it was as if all the pods swim consumed suddenly hit them all at once after 18 hours of nothing after this experience but swim did in fact end up catching quite a buzz, no idea why it took so long tho

sometimes thats just how it is, not to mention fitting 1000 years, 17 different lives and a few alternate dimensions that all occured within 8 hours is a bit tough to remember accurately to lol:)

It is fleeting, and can be hard to recall.. I hear that, but for me there are very distinct shifts that happen, even with small doses - colors get vivid, geometry becomes very apparent, art, music, sex.. All senses heightened and the perceptual changes last, it's the memory of the specific trips that fade..

the difficulty that comes with this specific one is the dose, 20 grams of mimosa with 200mg of caapi full spectrum extract and 200mg harmine all oral. i mean i remember a few specific things but all of them that stuck are extremely personal. i will say at one point assuming this was a full on breakthrough via aya, swim was in another place made of golden hues and radiant lights on a table or altar at the end of a long room very similiar to how a christian church is set up with a faceless but deffinitive entity to his right performing some sort of operation or healing procedure on him. the only other thing i can say for sure is the vision of fern like fuzzy little things covering everything that i cant quite find the right words for, like little spiky fuzzy droplets oh and of course alex grey style eyes. but thts honestly about the most i can say, also it was aproximately and 1 year from the day that swim had first tried mimosa/dmt even tho this didnt come to attention until afterwards, i will add swim did witness his uncle who had passed the day before and whos funeral was the following day as clear as day who also helped guide him through some very dark points in it, at the onset of the experience swim was reading tim leary's tibetan book of the dead psychedelic guide which helped him enter into it very easily and without the intial words from that swim fears he would have had a rather difficult experience. a sitter was present but swim feels comfortable enough to say that they would try such a dose again alone without any real worry. hope that gives somthing worth taking :-)

glad to be of use :-) i honestly thought you were expeting one of those novels you read on erowid, i did write one of those up once from a sitters perspective on another few forums and maybe later will add it here if i get the drive after i sleep. but yes i completely agree, dmt/aya i feel should never be sold as i find that insulting to the experience in regards to sacred context. should anything else come back to swims mind from the experience ill be sure to relay it on as swim has no hands and i must type for them :D till later i bid you a goodnight or morning or afternoon etc etc, spiral out

I've never had the balls to try full-out ayahuasca, instead sticking to the quarter-hour smoked/IV DMT trip. However, it's interesting, what you felt, and I've always wanted to have a reason for doing oral DMT and seeing how it stacks up to smoked, when it lasts for several hours, to see if it is as intense, and if it shares the attributes that make DMT the only hallucinogen that I will use.

The lack of opioid-feeling almost sounds like one of the effects of ibogaine, to me. I wonder if the anti-addictive effect of ibogaine is truly due to some psychological or spiritual revelation, and not due to solely pharmacological effects, such as the α3ß4 nAchR antagonism and NMDA antagonism I have always credited with ibogaine's success in the very few cases it is successful.

Hell, my entire world-view and even my religious beliefs are predicated on the knowledge that everything has a physical explanation, which at the micro scale is based in chemistry and nano scale is quantum physics/quantum chem, even the soul. If two drugs with different mechanisms of action can have the same effect, and can't be explained by physical agonism (e.g. two drugs have the same effect through different MOAs), it's... Most interesting.

TGD, as far as what i can say regarding Vaped DMT vs oral is this, most will probably say that Vaped is far stronger but in my experience as long as you compensate by brewing an insane dose of mimosa and feel you can manage with a possible 2-7 hr breakthrough its entirely possible and my first experience consisted of drinking half the liquid from a 50 gram mimosa brew and considering the average dose range considered for mild to strong is 3-10 grams, 25 was most certainly enough to have experienced such and perosnally i find it very easily tolerated once your familiar with the chemical in general tho i do not reccomend nor condone such rediculously high dosing and your milage Will vary.
Also maybe it is entirely possible that the addiction benefits of such thigns are not entirely due to physiological response. i will say the DMT most cerntainly helps with WD during and for some time after the experience unlike in the past when i've tried shrooms or LSD while in withdrawal and things only got much much worse. i cant say for sure since the next day i was back to my old tricks but for a good 18 hours folloing the experience i found it impossible to catch a buzz nor was i experiencing WD at an above average dose of my DOC. i can only hope one day we might have more insight into all of this further

Hey, leave the damned meth heads alone, your just pissed you can't make your own opiates at home from an OTC drug. I know it's a side note but becareful, a lot of the easy bake one pot meth has lithium salts in it and really needs to be cleaned up. It's easy enough to do but I've yet to meet a tweaker that knows how. I guess it can't be a completely bad thing they put a bipolar/ocd drug in w/ the meth :cool:, I just don't know how well the body does w/ various unkown lithium salts.

MindAsh, I told you it would pass, just give it a bit. I've found DMT very useful in WD. I don't think it's a coincidence that AMT, DMT and iboga all have effects on opiate use.
