Never seen west coast tar but did brown powder (huge amounts in a lotto square) and this was shit...but then I again I was a foreigner who probably looked like a good mark to the train station guys...still worked though just needed way more. Northeast mass, the junky twin cities by the merrimack. The scene is almost all prearranged by cell, follow the man, etc. Been awhile for me but when I needed a new hookup I'd just pick up a pro and hook her up at her place and get meet the man. No "open air" drive up deal here. Used to be back in the early 90's you could drive up the right street any time or go to certain bars. Stay away from the clinics though.

I’m not sure what it’s called, but the square pieces of paper or paper like material (which more often then not come from syringe packaging) which are folded in half to make a triangle, and then your dope is inside of the triangle.

As long as you put the dope in the right place, it’s surprising how well those little folds keep it from getting out, considering their simplicity.

Yeah, I've only gotten bags on two separate occasions. The first time I got these small pink $40 bags with two small dark brown pebbles in them -- I wasn't sure what the fuck I was getting, but it turned out to be the best dope I've had to this day. I swear I got like 5 or 6 highs out of each bag, and I had a considerable tolerance at the time. Ah, I wish I had bought more. =/ The second time I got these green dime bags of scramble that had like two jumbo caps worth of dope in them. Those were being sold under the name 'No Mercy', and were above average.

MN- I looked up a few conversions because i was curious about the 1.8 g. It is actully equal to 1 dram - don't know if you guys use that as a measurement, I know it's rare in the US except in the case of old, old drugs (like before i was around). It also equals exactly 9 carats, which I thought was kind of cool.

It might be because of that, to make the "illusion" that ur getting more. One thing is that low-quality tar could be more gooey and more liable to melt, hence more bag. But I've had some bomb ass tar that was gooey as hell, but generally it seemed in my area that the thick chunks were better. Just a thought.

It really depends. Ive gotten shit hard as a rock, well not quite but consider a pretty damn hard candy... picture impatient kids sitting in a car, friend with a knife pushing down with all his might on this chunk and then POP! Shit flies in every direction, there is a storm of obscinities, and the little fiends go to town like someone just broke a piñata. Good thing about this dope is it was usually decent quality, but you could tell the kinda cut by looking at it so not always.

Now the really gooey shit, picture taffy on a warm day, all stickin to the bag and when you pull it in both directions it stretches. Annoying as hell sometimes on a hot day in your car, sticking everywhere pissing you off. Good thing for a smoker is alot sticks to the bag and you can press the bag down on your foil and pull it off quick (like a bandaid!) and have a nice big fun glob of mess on there when the rest of the sack runs out.

Both have their ups and downs, and usually shit is somewhere in between those two extremes

Vax- pm me- I'm paranoid. yeah, yuck it's gross where it comes from- but once you've seen what the fingers look like, it's pretty obvious. They package the shit with layers of carbon paper, plastic, condoms, balloons, rubber, etc. so it's well sealed. I don't know for sure, maybe I'm wrong- sometimes customs finds dope stuffed inside dowels, tubes, etc. so maybe that's why.

It always seems to do the job, but I don't get it very often though so I have a low tolerance.

I've been shhoting H in this town for 9+ years: ALWAYS tar (OK- for 2 weeks in 1999 is was brown powder); and it's always in grocery bag plastic in a balloon. Rarely, the plastic wrapper is wrapped in foil, then wrapped in the balloon. Years ago it was $20 per bag, 3 for $50, 6 for $100. Then it was $15 each, 4 for $50, and 9 for $100. And, depending on the 'batch', sometimes missing a load will hurt like hell and leave a nasty looking bruise/mark (the current batch just hurts like HELL- no bruise or lump). Other batches don't hurt at all and you don't know if you've missed 'til you pull the rig out and notice the lump....... Well, that's my report. I've had numerous connects over the years and at one point (summer/fall 2002) I had like 5 or 6 different dealers. I only have 2 now; my main guys and a backup 'just in case'. I've been dealing with my main guys steadily for 5 years now, maybe even longer. The size of the bags has changed, they are a bit smaller, but not that much. The $10's I get now are about 3/4 the size of the $20's I got years ago and the quality is more or less the same. Of course, there's always the occasional batch of shit dope going around, but it never stays in circualtion longer that 3-4 days, 'cuz everyone starts complaining and the dealers don't like dealing w/ a bunch of pissed off, dope sick junkies. I think the dealers figured it's easier for a junky to scrape up $10 than it is $20. And when the bags were $20, everybody was always short a couple-o-bucks. So the bags may be a bit smaller, but they sell way more of 'em I guess. Who knows????

In Chi town it is almost always in tin foil which is then inside a stamp bag and has one staple in it, which goes through the bag and the foil. Sometimes it is only in the stamp bag and is about 1/6 full. It ranges from light brown (whixh is usually the best) to white, which can be very good too, it all depends. You can usually tell how good it is by the smell. About two years ago I used to get in folded foils which was in between tape on both sides. Basically they put a piece of tape down, then put the pieces of foils on the tape about an inch apart, and then put another piece of tape on top. They were always a pain in the ass to open, especially when you were fiending, and your hands were all shaky. The tape was hard to get off. It was mostly that movers type tape. Ocassionally it would have a colored duct tape on one side, so that the dealers could say "black tape" or "red tape" so you knew the quality. The bags I get mostly now are green aliens with foil inside and stapled once. It seems like the Chi town markets are dying down though. Then again I am not as adventurous as I used to be because if a cop sees you on the west side, he knows what you are doing if you are caucasion. And they will almost always pull you, especially if it is one of the detective looking cop cars with narc cops that wear like jeans and t-shirts with a bullet-proof vest on top. They are the mean bastards too.

Yeah, pot isn't equal to dope and coke as far as price curve. In the late 80s in Seattle I could get 4 gram 8ths of super sticky pot for $25. I'm pretty far away from that scene now but my understanding is that it's closer to $50 for the same weight. Around the same time, when black was just starting to get popular in Seattle, it was $250/g. - I used to pay $40 for an eight of a gram and C was $100/g or 3 bills for an eight ball. Now you can get a proper gram of black for $30 and they're nearly giving the C away, I think $50 a T isn't uncommon, I dunno, I don't pay for that Crap..

Amazing how much the times have changed. Dope is cheap in CA too. It did seem to me that overall though, in spite of the low prices in Seattle, that the dope wasn't very good this last time (although the C can be really good, cheap or not.) Seems like the N. CA dope is a bit stronger although it's been awhile...

Edit: Oh yeah: In Seattle, you're lucky to get a piece of plastic with your dope, I've ripped many a garbage bag off on the way back to the car just to keep it from melting on my fingers. SF, it's always in balloons or sealed up really well in plastic. The difference between the two markets is night and day..

always in glassine bags, with a stamp. look like miniature grocery bags. Gunpowder in the bottom, then it's folded once (height wise) and then one more time, and sealed w scotch tape, usually. 10 bucks for one bag; and 100 for a "wop"-- ten pieces (bundle, bindle,etc.) the deal on the street if you cop from one of the dope boys on the corner is "7 for 100" or straight 15 a bag.

It's always light tan, kind of fluffy, very very little vinegar smell. Smells almost similar to a new box of Band-Aids. Dry, light powder--cut up about 2 lines 2 inches long, a quarter of an inch "wide" and maybe a third of an inch high. Pretty decent. Half a bag will get you well, the whole thing will get you fucked up, tolerance or not. The shit around here is very pure; reportedly comes from the Bronx, NY.

PS---> For as long as i could remember, the baggies were always white w a stamp or whatever on it; more recently dealers have gotten fancy and there are baby blue, red, and even yellow bags. Marketing gimmick? (jk, jk) cause the shit's all the same when you come dowm to it. i saw a lot of you guys were talking about tar. it's pretty much unheard of around here. Down here in the south most dealers do it this way, I would get tar wraped in plastic then shoved in tiny ballons. Each colored ballon would mean different weights: blue .25g, yellow .5g , red 1g. (20$,30$, and $60)

(Seattl) When I was first introduced to H 3 years ago it was coming from Chicago in hard brown cylinders. Each Cylinder was supposedly 1 oz which if I recall correctly ran about 4 grand. I would buy 1 gram of a pure hard brown chunk of the cylinder and was educated on how to cut it and package it properly. For every one gram of pure hard brown I would place 3 grams of a substance called Sleepanoyl into a coffee grinder and mix it up. It would then be wrapped in tin foil. .3 went for around $50. This connection only lasted for about 4 months and I would snort it regurally, this was by far the greatest opiate experience I've ever had bar none. Since that time I have scored black tar wrapped in Balloons about 5 times and mixed it with water and snorted it, I also smoked the tar with foil.... the tar was not even in the same universe as the brown, which my source referred to as "China"....I would love to come across this product again.... I'm in SEATTLE!!!!

In ATL, they come in these super tiny ziploc bags the size of a dime - 10 bucks.
And they gradually increase in size dependent upon whay you spend. Theres only a two - three block radius - the Bluff - that all H is sold openly in all of ATL. One would think they would shut it down if they really wanted to, but too many dirty pigs who yank up corner boys and empty there pockets of their cabbage and tell them to beat it or they're going downtown. Also have coked out adrenaline junkie RED DOG pit bull police force that love to kick the shit out of a junkie and take the little scratch they have to cop. Wouldnt suggest you go there unless you're known. Now theres alot of young thugs there with no business sense and will flex you as soon as have a dependable customer. Wow this is a really old thread. However I couldnt resist posting because I was surprised someone else had their shit packaged the same way as my connect (who is now in jail unfortunatly).

I didn't think anyone else packaged their shit this way because it is so weird.

First, the dope is wrapped in a small piece of plastic cellophane, then that is wrapped in tin foil, and then the whole thing is put in a small balloon. Talk about a waste of materials. I mean is three layers of packaging really necesary? Lol.

I was also surprised more people dont get their shit in balloons, especially black tar. Almost all the dealers I have seen who sell black tar have their shit in balloons, and they keep them in their mouth 24/7. I do the same thing and always put the dope in my mouth after I score. This way if you see the cops coming, you can swallow all the evidence and then puke it up later, or wait till you shit it out. Although it really sucks when your bag is covered in a big fat loogie from some nasty, toothless homeless junkie's mouth.

Also now that I think about it, because I put the balloon in my mouth after I get it, I am basically swapping spit with my dealer. I try to wipe them clean as much as possible, but it is still pretty disgusting when you think about it. The things we do for drugs.

I use to buy there all the time when I lived in LA over a year ago, and the stuff was always black tar. I have never even heard of someone getting powder in LA. Was it really good powder? Or just the same kind of high as the tar? Brown powder dope is extremely rare on the west coast especially in LA. You gotta know a really good connect to get it. Plus, the few times I have tried powder dope in cali (not in LA), it wasn't even that good. The black tar was actually better than the powder.

In Bull-City (Durham,NC) they have these lil wax bag envelopes most of the time. IVe seem them in red and blue but mostly the bagz are white. As far as whats inside, ususally tan to off-white and they go for $15 or 10 for $120. Sometimes they will be packaged in thise little ziplock bags with symbols.
