Hi guys, i'm just wondering if this med used to treat bipolar disorder have any use recreationally? I'm just wondering, as it acts on GABA receptors, i beleive the same chemical as which benzo's cause their effect.
Does it have any interactions with opies? particulary poppy tea? I can't find any info to support that, but i would just like to be careful till i know. Any info much appericated. Thanks
Man, I was put on that stuff to help fight migraines, and it whacked me out. Not fun at all. I would say a big fat NO to recreational usage. But to each their own.
Be safe with it. It's not a toy drug for sure.

I am on Depokate and no I would never use them recreationally, but then I also have geoden, lithium sulfate, lithobid, cymbaltas, doxepins, tegratol, and about 20 other bottles of anti- depressents given to me over the years and none I would use recreationally,oh paxil and zoloft too.
I much prefer to use Somas, valiums, lorazepams and stuff like that to enhance my high but I take them orally and I am very careful not to over do it It just brings my nod on better and longer.

thanks very much. I also have been on anti-physotics and anti-d for years, and i never caught a buzz, and i know that i'm not suppose too. I just never heard of this med, and it got me thinking about it working on GABA, so it seemed to me it "just might2 of produced an effect like benzos. Thank for you help

Depakote works more on regulating Potassium and Calcium channels than it does on GABA (not that it doesn't have a gaba-ergic effect. Its pretty minimal though, I can't even tell when I've been on them. Other than not going crazy...
