I have got myself a little problem. I am currently on a 24mg a day bupe maintenance program and although it works great for curbing cravings and withdrawal symptoms I am still left with alot of loose ends that need to be tied up. Prior to starting on sub I was (and still am, just not on opiates) a chronic pain patient and prescribed 100mg MScontin 3x daily and 10mg percocet for breakthrough. I also supplemented my prescribed meds with large amounts of H, OC, Dilaudid, etc.. My main issues are with the fact that I am still in excruciating pain on a daily basis and have nothing for relief. Also, since I started on the bupe I cannot drink hard alcohol or drink more than about four beers a night. This is pretty annoying for me as I really enjoy to drink, and when I drink enough it kills my pain and lets me get some decent sleep. If anyone has any experience in managing chronic pain while on sub, please let me know. This fucking sucks, I want my goddamn opiates back!

My sub DR prescribed some SOMA to go along with the subs.Actually I am on 4 a day and several people have stopped my husband and said "Boy was your wife drunk yesterday when I seen her."
And my husband replies that I don't drink and it is my medication. It helps me to get to sleep and is very much like an alcohol buzz.I actually enjoy taking the pills instead because I don't like the taste of alcohol but like the feeling and this is the closest I can get without drinking.
I have Chirossis of the Liver w/ only 40% of my liver remaaining so I can't drink anyways, but I find SOMAS a hell of a good substitute to relax, sleep and then feel like I had a couple drinks,The only thing id that it doesn't last as long (the effects that is) but other then that ,I know my sub Dr has no problem prescribing Somas and it is a damn good substitute for alcohol in my opinion,

Yo Rob, unfortunately there is no way of being on subs and taking any other type of opiate.....period. If you are in chronic pain, why would you go on subs to begin with? The only thing I can think about (cause I kn ow that subs dont do shit for pain) is ask your doc to prescribe you methadone. That should curb your w/d's and your pain. Other than that, I really dont know what to tell you. Good luck

I really fucked myself with all the H. I had to get off in order to save my relationship. Before I got on the sub I had a disc decompression that really helped with the pain, so I thought I would be able to handle the recently diminished pain, I was wrong. The H had put me to a point where my prescribed meds would barely keep me well and do little for my pain. I knew that something had to be done and going on sub seemed like a viable option. Now the pain is back and my girl is u

Well, your gal doesn't have to live with your pain, no?
btw, are you just trying to get your tolerance down to a reasonable level? You might try corydalis 5x...I don't think its an opioid, but I gave some to a friend right after he spranged his ankle really bad before I drove him home, and he said it helped...I dunno, there's also Kava Kava, which is great...it effects the GABA receptors and feel a LOT like alcohol. You have to take it a few times before the effects are overtly noticable, but I love the stuff, I take it at work and school if I have something I'm stressing about. Its like a mix of Xanax and alcohol and a muscle relaxer...but more clear-headed (get the 84% gel caps). Might help you get some sleep.
Anyways, good luck..
