What makes these slow release? Is it the coating or is it something in the formula?I'm wondering this because I can get it, but I'm not sure if its worth it.30mg tabs.If it's just a matter of rubbing the coating off then it definatly is, but the latter...

I still can't understand the mechanism... probably not worth the buy unless you're dry.

I've read a few other posts on the subject and it seems you can isolate the morphine, but it's a real pain in the ass to do so.Am I wrong? I hope I am, the need has somewhat diminshed though being that I just got back on methodone today. I'd rather be on morphine anyday but the jivejuice clinic is 4 blocks from my home. Oi vey! Here we go again...

Actually, it's not that hard. Best way to do it is to crush pill and put in a small amount on hot water, you'll see the wax float up. From then, plug away...

The short answer is: The coating is just to make it go down easier, make it pretty, and not taste like morphine (quite bitter). The time release is a matrix contained within the pill. The best way to defeat is to crush into powder, but beware...Unless you just plan on orally ingesting, many brands of morph SR will gel up when you add water or snort. I've read that the best way to admin is with an enema. It's said to absorb rapidly, and thoroughly.
