Blood Test and Pods

First off, I'm so sorry to have to post this question. I UTMFSE and Gooooooogle and couldn't find anything for a blood test and pods.

Anyway, my PM doc is now blood testing (rather than standard UA). The appointments are supposedly taking hours because you show up, wait hours, get the test (his office is in a hospital), wait hours for the results, then wait to see the doc.

My question is this....how long would ppt stay in blood? I use pods to help stretch my script out. I normally stop the tea about 5 days before my UA and have never had issues. But I'm not sure if its the same with blood testing?

Also, just for any possible future concerns...what about subs or H? How long does that show up in blood?

Again, sorry about asking this when I'm sure its been covered before. I've been searching for about 2 hrs. and couldn't find my answer. FYI, my appt. in next Thursday.

Heroin usually isn't detectable (safely) around 3-5 days, I imagine poppy tea has a longer detection period although it is just morphine, codeine, papaverine, and thebaine (I doubt they test for the latter 2).

After doing some research it looks like blood testing is better then urine as it isn't detectable as long.

Just make sure you have taken your script as directed for at least 3 -5 days out-

Could be all they want to see is your script is being taken ?
Morphine is the main issue that will show from pods.

Heroin, which is very short acting, has been known to give a positive pee test after six days (a member here attested to this). Given that the effects of PT are VERY long lasting - more like methadone, would that not suggest that even six days clear is no guarantee - whether blood or urine test?

Okay, I just spotted on Johnny's chart that methadone doesn't hang around in blood for very long atall.

JM, GnD and doc, thanks so much for the replies! From what I heard the PM doc is looking to see that his patients are taking the meds as directed and not just the day before/day of. I heard he (like so many other PM docs) is catching heat. He recently moved his practice inside of a hospital and the hallway is always lined with patients, other docs were complaining. So I'm guessing that he is doing this to cover his ass and possibly weed out some patients in the process.

Was anyone else surprised that codeine/heroin is actually detectable longer in urine than in blood? I know I sure was! I'm relieved but I'm still going to give myself 5-7 days off the pods, just to be on the safe side. I have a good thing going with this doc and I refuse to sabotage myself!

Not really, because the stuff in your piss is only the stuff that has got there from your blood in the first place, via your kidneys. And your bladder is a reservoir that's waiting till its full before releasing the goods - it's at the end of the line.

(BTW, I am not a medical doctor, and this is just reasoned but uneducated thought!)
