40+ packs of h, plus some some loose rocks, totaling 10+ grams
10 X pills
less than an ounce of weed.

some years ago person was sentenced five or so years for something related to a homicide, and ended up doing over ten years for an assault while in prison.

bond is set at almost 2 million dollars.

What do you think their charges will be and how much time do you think they're going to be doing?

They might catch an Intent to Distribute charge and 10g's might be enough for a mandatory minimum sentence which I believe is 10-15 years.

If he cops a plea/deals or flips on his supplier he might get less, but the 10 grams is going to be the most serious charge.

The previous felony is going to hurt as well as the courts usually come down harder on repeat offenders.

Pills will be just a possession charge and with an oz of weed they might be able to get an Intent to Distribute but might get pleaded down to just possession.

Edit> Was the charge in prison a felony? If so and this person is in a three strikes state this could be a life sentence.

I believe the charge in prison was a felony, but this person is not in a three strikes state.

If I spent over 10 years in prison I probably wouldn't be walking around with 10 grams of heroin on me when I got out..

Well that doesn't really make things any better, just the fact they won't get life in prison.

I am thinking 5 years minimum with it probably being closer to 10-15 years.

Sounds like he has bad behaviour in prison, so not one for getting an early release. I'm not a legal expert my any means, but I would imagine if he grasses, he's going to get a minimum of a five stretch, and a maximum of a ten stretch, because of his previous felonies, even though they're not drug-related. If he doesn't grass, I'd imagine ten to twenty because of MMS laws, and maybe more if the feds pick up on it.

in th great legal system we have in the city of baltimore, he'd probably be ror'ed, no bail. be home the next day. by the time it went to trial (if it even does) he'd probably be sentenced to something like 5 years, with 4 years 11 months and 364 days suspended (hey they have to give him credit for the day he spent in central bookings)

or make it even easier he could claim he has a serious problem with drugs and needs help badly. They'd send him to a recovery home for 6 months (yep all funded by the state.)

It all depends of what state you live in.

Where I live, that would probably be closer to 20 years and you could possibly serve every single day

did i ever tell yall about the time baltimore's finest found the shop's ground stash (6 packs of dope, 25 pills per pack, and 7 packs of crack, nickels, 50 viles per pack). They really wanted guns though. Gave us 15 minutes to turn one over or face the drug charges. We gave them the cheap lorcin 380 we had stashed in a cars wheel well in the spot. not a bad trade . they did take the packs though and probably gave them to another crew to sell. Good ole Bmore.

Not sure if Michigan has PFO's(Persistent Felony Offender), but that would give them a mandatory sentence of 10-15 years, and that's just the PFO charge, not to mention the other felonies. Regardless said person is looking at some serious time, I'd say more than 5 years for sure.

Nicely put - plus the record, say bye bye.

My state (KY) isn't a 3 strikes state BUT we have a charge for repeat offenders called PFO (Persistent Felony Offender) which carries 5 years for the 1st PFO charge.
