Hey what's up. I took 4 lortab 10/500's tonight (the wife had appendix taken out a few days ago and she gots plenty of 'em). No big deal right? Maybe not, but it is to me because I got a decent BUZZ off 'em and I'm on fucking 16 to 24mg of buprenorphine per day! I thought that shit was sposed to block the opiates! The last dose of bupe I had was 8 hours before taking the hydro.

I got a good buzz of 40mg hydro and after taking that, I shot up 8mg more of bupe and it only added to the buzz. I'm itchin my nose and face like crazy right now. It's been six years since I took any opie other than bupe, kratom or pods (the kratom and pods were about a year ago).

Jus' though I'd ask if I'm some kinda mutant or something because I really have never heard of anyone bein' able to actually get high like right after taking bupe. But then again, I've heard of someone on this site shooting suboxone too and he said it worked fine (small doses of it, mind you).

You know what after my pisstest on monday I'll do you one better. I'm gonna use seven hours after my last dose...

Oh, wait, wrong place... anyway, I have a theory:

First, bupe supposedly only attaches partially to the receptor that causes 'euphoria' right? And the reason we do opiates is for euphoria, right?

So, my theory is that over time, bupe lowers your tolerance on that particular receptor, or in other words, for the euphoria that opiates cause. Most of us went on bupe from a bad hook, and couldn't feel a hydro if it was going to save our lives... probably the same for you, right Zoop?

But the point is, after using bupe for so long, your tolerance in one sense starts going down, and when something finally comes along that actually causes euphoria, and its been that long... it happens.

Plus, 8 hours is long enough for the 'acute' effects of bupe to wear off. . .

That is weird, though, because when I'm on bupe I don't feel shit for days.

I don't wanna make it seem like I was totally nodded out or sumpin but it was definitely an opiate high that I haven't experienced in quite a while. I'll even get a buzz from bupe if I wait 12 hours or longer between doses (IV is best). This high, with the hydro, was a little bit blunted, but definitely there. I was just so surprised I had to tell someone about it.

Couldn't very well say to the old lady, "hey guess what I just swiped four of your lortabs and I'm kinda high right now!" LOL..

Oh, and Opiyum, I would have taken more if I could have. I think if I took my old dose of hydro - what I was takin' back when I had serious habit - 100mg in one go - I would've gotten a heavy-duty high. So, I'd recommend if you're going to try some 'real' opiates only seven hours after bupe, then I'd say take a rather large dose. I could only get 40mg hydro this time, but like 70 or 100mg would have really done me up good, no question about it. My woman might need to get some more pain meds, as she's in some pain from that operation still, and I might be able to repeat this experiment, and I'll take more if I can, but we'll see.

A while back for a week or two I'd take my hydros during the day starting w/2or3 w/coffee totaling about 10 around noon,then at appr.3 in afternoon would IM vial of Nubain,for whatever reason that combo would give me a great nod while sitting in sun relaxing.Can definitely see where your comin from

I think this is pretty much right on, History; I know if I stay on bupe for a while (my usual taper--I get down to 2mgs every other day in about two and a half weeks as long as I don't use at all) my tolerance lowers accordingly. Of course, it shoots right back up, even after only a couple days usage.

But Zoop is definitely an exceptional situation, he says he's on 16-24mgs daily, and I'm assuming he means long-term maintenance, so I find it highly unusual. I know for a fact that even on 2mgs a day, Percocet does nothing for me, even in 50-80mg doses, and I need increased doses of stronger shit like OC or heroin to get where I wanna be. Last time I had OC, I had taken 4mgs of bupe the day before and still had to take a whopping 440mgs to nod. A dose like that woulda certainly OD'd me a year ago. Of course, the high powered smack I get blasts right through the bupe, but even then, I find myself needing more.

I'm not sure why this is happening Zoop, but don't look a gift-horse in the mouth, ya lucky bastard!
