How long do the w/d last?

This is my first time w/d for this many days. I've only had to go without a day or two before, I'm on day 4 with 10 more days to go. An excessive amount of time to go. I've used tramadol in the past & its worked fine. I had a new bottle & had ordered on the net from the same place as before, but its not doing anything to help.

I'm alternating between chills & excessive sweating lethargy, to say nothing of the pain that I'm taking them for in the first place.

My question is how the hell long does this last? Well will I stop sweating & shaking with chills?:(

PS. I usually take 230mg oxy a day.

Neither. I'm on pain management, for about 4 years.

3-4 days It peaks the worst is over then
4-7 days you starts feeling better
expect little to no sleep for about a week

have you been able to sleep much???

Buy some loperamide and use along with the trmadol.

say take 48 2mg capsules with the max dose you can safely of tramadol (it can five seizures) and you should feel a bit better, at least enough to function.

I agree; it won't last forever, as you know. Your definitely not totally out of the woods, but four days into it you should be feeling some better. Its the mental WD that always hang on the most for me. Four days w/o any oxy, you should be winding down with the worst of the physical withdrawals. If this is the first real kick you've had in 4 years, its intensity will prolly hang on a bit longer. But the mental stuff will more than likely hang in there until you re-upp. Simply because you know your going to get more. Hang in there, do as advised by others and you will survive. Finding anything to make the days go by faster, will be a BIG help..... a 10 day count down is hell! Good luck!

Good luck my man. I've gone cold turkey from oxycontin and heroin and it seemed at least for me like the oxycontin was worst. In fact my cold turkey oxycontin withdrawals lasted over a week. Finally on about day 9 I stopped getting the hot/cold flashes and all that fun shit. But I didn't sleep a wink for about 11 days and finally on the 12th night I fell asleep for 2 hours which was heaven. Then day 13 I slept 3 and so on until I started getting about 6 hrs of sleep about 2 and a half weeks later. Oh ya and the anxiety was pure hell for the full 2 weeks. But some people do much better. Some even do worse. Just matters on your body. Everyone is different. Good luck though. And don't think about those ten days (if ya can help it) cause they'll go just that much more slow!

I've been working but Friday was impossible so I took a sick day. Monday I have to go back to work. If I can just stop sweating/chills I can work. I look like an idiot sweating to death when its not in the air conditioned offices.

What does the lopermide do for you other than keep you from shitting? Does it have some other therapeutic effect?

^^yup, to put it simply lope has *just* enough opio activity to pull ya out of withdrawal. Like JM said, you gotta take a lot for it to work (although regular doses work fine for the shits).

48 pills? Is sthat a mistype? I thought the dose was more like 24mg twice a day.

Loperamide is an opiate by itself, so it will help wd symptoms, check synack's? thread on it, I believe it was his anyway. It isn't going to constipate you bc wding is going to give u the shits so it will just even you out in the shit department.

Hi Spikey, if it helps the suffering in any way, you've go a sister (albeit Caucasion... [sorry I've been away from the site for a very long time] ). I, too, am in the mist of the same gut-grinding, bowel-squeezing with the pressure of a f'king fire house, and the gags...

Picture this, truthfully, going of my 3 "scounting trip' in CLT (and to comlete the look I hadn't showerer in 8 days, but that's more due to putrid laziness and hellish sickness.... like walking as a bi-ped vs on all fours, which I actually did 3 days straight... sobbing, cursing myself, cursing heroin, screaming like a fruitcake. Luckily my big dog goes upstairs when he sense "she's goona loose it, again." And the guinea pig is rooms away well insolated from my temporary madness.

I've got lots of pharms to see me through (220 2mg Xanax, 1/2 bottle Soma, 300+ 12.5mg Ambiens and Hydroxyzine 25mg. Thank Santa. But I could NOT f'cking sleep for the next 3 days, wonder why?

If you've ever been rx'd Dexedrine Spansules, time-released speed! Yes, admittedly they were both striped pills and I'm an idiot. Plus, wiped out. Now, I type like a leper and miss or hit every wrong key.

Wow, with that much alprazolam, I could keep myself in a sleepy/sedated stupor/sleep until the withdrawals were done and over with. 2mgs of xanax puts me right to sleep for a solid six hours...

Spikey, there is a difference between wd's that are due to running out and wd's due to kicking for good. I think the former are much worse.

When your brain knows that eventually it will get to have dope again, it doesn't truly clean itself out (in my unscientific opinion).

However when you're kicking permanently, the mind realizes it's hopeless to crave opiates, thereby making the cleansing process just a tad more bearable.

Having said that, withdrawals suck any way you slice it. And having to work on top of it? With a chronic pain condition?

That was the worse w/d for me ever, it went on for so long. Shaky, I think you're right about the mind knowing it was only a matter of time before the body was getting more opiates.

I ended up getting my script 4 days early too. Had a doctor's appointment for something else and doc thought as long as I was there I might as well pick up my scripts instead of coming back.:D Of course the downside to that is I will run short again this month, I'm going to try to manage it better than I did last month though. I do not want to repeat that experience.

That one hour btw the time you wake up at 7am for an 8am appt seems like 96 hrs. (I always go for the 1st appt of the day)- anyways when you wake up, take a quick shower, dress, hit the road and sit in the waiting room. Then you have to leave dr ofc and go get em filled and sit and wait again. God. It seems like forever. But, I tell ya, just opening the lid to them lovely opies, I swear I have an orgasm, hehe.
