Sorta New DXM single-entity product

Hey yall freaks wutup tonight I tried a new DXM single entity product that came out a little while ago.

I'm on vacation at the beach for a week down in Nags Head, North Carolina (from the normal location listed on the sidebar next to my furry monster avatar). Hangin' around with my MOM and her husband, my wife and my little boy all freakin day (been here since Sunday, go home next Sunday). It's not that bad, I mean shit I don't hate the people, it's just trying for a dope fiend like me, I'm sure yall can relate. It is a vacation. So around 7pm tonight I said "I'm goin' to the grocery store to get something." On the way there I though, "I'd like to get some DXM to potentiate the bupe I got so maybe I can improve my buzz" I mean I barely ever get any buzz from it unless I wait about at least 14 hours, really good buzz if I wait a full 24 hours between doses, just barely long enough for the very very faint beginnings of w/d's to start. I assumed that the local grocery store "Food Lion" would have those nice "Robitussin Cough Gels" which are single entity, DXM only gel caps. They didn't have those, but they had something else, which turned out to be far superior:

It's called "Theraflu Cough Strips." It's one of those new dissolvable strip oral dosage forms that have been coming out for various cough n cold type remedies lately. I think sudafed has one for decongestant (w/ phenylephrine in it) ?" I don't know. But this shit I took was "Theraflu" cough strips. Each cherry flavored strip has 10mg of DXM BASE (freebase) NOT the hydrobromide (HBr) salt which is the form in which the drug is usually presented. According to the packaging, each 10mg of DXM base is = to 15mg of dextromethoprhan HBr. The pack has 12 strips in it and I took six of 'em. That's equal to 90mg of the regular form of DXM. Not a very big dose according to the general theory on DXM abuse, but I DEFINITELY felt it like 20 min. after taking it. and that was on a full stomach, after dinner, washed it down with warm Dr. Pepper right there in the Food Lion parking lot!

Drove home and sniffed 8mg of bupe and now I'm buzzed like a mofo.

I swear this new theraflu coughstrips shit is the bomb as far as DXM goes. Somethin' about the freebase form, I think the idea behind it's being in these strips instead of the HBr salt, is that it probably is intended to be absorbed at least partly via the sublingual route.

I am very experienced with taking DXM, and 90mg has never given any feel-able effects, only barely enough to potentiate my bupe maintenance when I take it.

I notice a definite difference between hydrobromide and the polistyrex material...I like the effects of the time release polistyrex more when I chew up the little beads of dxm some.

I imagine that the freebase material, sublingual, and swallowed might make for a quick reaction. this might lend to extraction a little better possibly.

Naw, just DXM that's all. And it's actually 11mg of the stuff in each strip, not 10 like I said before. I just looked at the label again. Took the other six this morning at 4:00am. I wake up super early most of the time because I just can't sleep. A little while later, I felt the effects again (from the DXM) - just enough to know it's there - pretty light actually, and then I snorted another 8mg subutex and man! It really makes the drowsiness kick in. I don't want to call it a "nod" but that's what I did, basically. I was on here looking at some posts, and I HAD TO go back to sleep. So I slept for another 4 hours and now I feel pretty good.

Next time I'll take all 12 strips in the pack.

This stuff is the shit when mixed with bupe!

I'd recommend eatin' 12 TheraFlu Cough Strips and doin 8mg bupe about an hour later.

I don't know about codeine but I used to do the robo thing on a daily basis, usually around 450-500 mg HBr I found that low doses of H felt very diluted but after a certain threshold it felt like a major potentiation. I am really not sure why this is but it was something that was done rumerous times with that same "exponential" sort of effect. Same thing with tea. Someone I know OD'd on the same H they had been using for a couple of days (from the same bundles) without that extreme of an effect (good stuff but not that powerful). Person was revived but it definitely seems to potentiate opiates after a certain threshold dose. Anyone ever noticed this?

ive nodded HARD on some pretty small doses of PT after taking only 30-60mg of dxm.

That's interesting...the person I mentioned had that happen about 16 hours after doing around 400 mg. Just about when you can just barely feel the DXM. The DXM seems to vary hugely from person to person from different people who tried it, even at the same dose (8 oz bottle, 10 mg/5 ml). I get wacked like dust, as do two others I know. Pretty much everyone else I've known, about 20 or so people, seem to just sink into a chair and disconnect for 12 hours. Some said they could barely move. Wierd stuff. Ops + DXM...nice for me at right dose. The H feels so "total" for lack of a better word.

they've been out for like a year or so. tastes pretty good. pretty expensive but if you're boosting a dxm trip or using them to potentiate opioids they do the job.

dxm will lower your tolerance perhaps...
and if you are like me it will put a stop to constipation,...no shit, it really works for constipation.
and dxm has some synergistic effects with opiates, and with codeine, it definitely potentiates some of the euphoric action.

Oh shit, really? I have had those electric shock sensations a few times while going without zoloft (after being on it for a looong time) and they are the stangest feeling I have ever had (except when tripping on acid, shrooms or perhaps ketamine!).

I have a sorta funny story to relate to yall. As many of you know, I participate in alcoholics anonymous. Mostly, it's to keep me on my toes re my alcoholism, which I definitely have. Out of all the drugs I've taken, booze has been the most destructive to me. Amphetamines would be a close second.

Well, I go to AA meetings regularly and I associate with folks in "the program," as they say, when I am not doing other stuff I gotta do. I really does help with keepin me off the drink. I haven't had a drink, any drink since July 1998, about a month after I started going to the meetings. As for other mind altering chemicals, especially opiates, I can't say the same. So that means I am not your model of "sobriety" in the AA program! But, regardless, I go to AA meetings and have some friends in the program - none of them know that I from time to time abuse prescription tranquilizers and abuse my buprenorphine script (only some of dem even know I'm on bupe maintenance). It kinda sucks keeping secrets like that, but shit, it's light years better than how my life was right before I started - shootin ritalin around the clock for about three months, heroin habit, physically dependent on alcohol and sedatives, et cetera. AA is a spiritual program that helps one to focus on God and to keep the emphasis on doing the right thing, helping others, being humble.

If anyone of yall wanna know any more about that whole deal - using drugs and being a member of AA - then PM me. I am not gonna talk to anyone who hasn't been a member for at least 90 days and 100 posts about it, jus' cuz it's a little bit sensitive issue.

I want to relate a funny story about DXM and AA. While on vacation last week, in Nags Head NC (at the beach, for those folks who don't know where Nags Head is), and my old lady and I (she's also in the program) went to a few meetings. I had gone to the same morning meeting twice during that week, and last Thursday (this would've been July 27th, 2006) was my third time at that particular meeting.

I had dosed 16 Robitussin cough gels (= 240mg dextromethorphan HBr) about an hour before going to the meeting, with the intention of using it later in the day as a boost to some buprenorphine (I find that the opiate-potentiation effect of DXM doesn't really fully come out until several hourse after taking the DXM). I came in to this meeting and a guy I had met, a local beach resident, asked me if I'd like to lead the discussion. I said "yeah, sure," assuming that this meant what it usually meant - speak for about 5 minutes and then open up the discussion with a topic. Right before the meeting started, tho' he tells me that on Thursdays, that meeting was a "speaker" format, meaning that the chosen "speaker" tells his whole story, speaking from 20 to 45 minutes! Fuck! I didn't have any time to prepare, granted my "story" is kinda interesting, but dude, that was fucked up.

Well, I did the best I could. About five minutes in, though, the DXM started to really kick in. I couldn't even form a complete sentence, as that 240mg was the biggest dose I'd taken in about a year. Things were getting weird fast, and I almost ran out of the room, was gonna say I felt like throwin' up. But, I got through it, and stumbled over my words, just said I was "nervous." Man, that was fuuuuuked up.

The rest of the day was pretty nice, though because it was a HEAVY buzz. Don't drive after taking large doses of DXM!

I snorted 2 mg of bupe about an hour ago and can just barely notice it. Then I went to the pharmacy to by some 15mg dxm gel caps. So far I have taken 12 of them about 3-4 at a time every 15 minutes or so. I intend to take all 20 or 300mg or more tonite. I have never used dxm with bupe that is why i took a low dose. I used to take 600mg or more of dxm but it has been a while. Nothing significant yetg but I will try to keep the topic open and see where it leads.

well I took 600mg of dxm finally. two bottles of the gelcaps. It took a whle for thr effect to hit me bu there it is. I cant type very good but I am stil;l catching my mistakes. I dont even feel the bupe i just feel like i am coming on with 600mg dxm at this point when I feel like I need a beer i drink a beer. Justlke the god old days. so far. My wife called me a few minutes ago and I was trying to sound straightwith her. She said Dont drink and drive anywhere. I said dpnt worry I am not going anywhere tonite. I am in a motel room near tucson AZ. roboing nicely!
