I have chronic pain and I was previously taking Lortab-10's (similar to Norco-10's) at about 4 a day. The pain control was good, but I had ups and downs in the pain. I now take MS Contin 15mg 2x daily (it's about the same strength as the Lortab) and I am much happier, and almost pain free.

I would recommend that you try to get on a long acting opiate instead of taking the norco however many times a day. In my personal experience it's a better solution. But I would start w/ Norco to see how much opiate you need daily to control your pain, then switch to a controlled release opiate (OxyContin, MSContin, or even Methadone-although Meth isn't controlled release, it has a longer half-life, and hence duration of action, and can work very well for some people).

I wish you the best of luck:)

However; if you're going to see the doc for the first time, you may not get opiates straightaway. You'll probably have to work your way up to opiates (that was the case for me). But every doc is different.

I take Norco (norco's are 325/10!!!) 5 x a day for 30 days = 150. Well this is what i have done for years...recently due to a better med i have gone down in morco mg's alot. Thanks to a very wise and compasionate doctor i am now more productive and pain free...much much much happier.
