here is the link. what do you guys think? does this mean they will leave us H and opiate users alone for a while as they focus mostly on meth users? or does this just make the opiate users life worse in the long run?

i'm interested in whatever comes mind - what does the average addict/chronic pain sufferer think about all this jazz?

I talked with a friend who still lives up in Oregon and he said OR and WA have made pseudoephedrine prescription ONLY again!

It's bad enough having to only have enough to last about one week, and show ID and sign for it, I think it's ridiculous if they think that's going to change anything!

oh and 'shadow people' my a$$....I never heard people using those terms I saw posted earlier when I was hanging out in the "hood".....I think these cops sit around some days just giddy as all get out and laughing at the terms they create!

The meth epidemic is alot of hype. They like to take any sort of health concern and add in the word "epidemic" to the end.

Its hyped to the point where my friends mom has made sure that the whole family has house keys and locks the door whenever they leave the house (they live in a very quiet suburban col de sac and never used to pay much attention to locking the door). This new policy is so that "meth addicts" don't break into their house to steal/pawn everything they have. She's a pretty smart woman too, its just pretty sad/interesting to see how the media can strip people's sense of security and peace of mind with a few sensationalized stories and some skewed facts.

Oh yeah, also my parents recently decided to sit me down and "educate" me on some insider information from our local police department. Apparently, people are lacing pot with meth to get people hooked. Yep, same story as with PCP, Coke, etc. but with the new "evil drug." They know I smoke pot so they decided to warn me. I tried to explain how that wouldn't be cost-effective at all since you could just sell the meth by itself for more, and that this would not help get people addicted because most people would smoke it and be like WTF and then never buy from that person again, but my parents wouldn't hear any of it. They just kept saying be careful and talking about the inherently rotten nature of all those involved in drug trafficking.

That's a fucking coinicidence right there... I just had about the same conversation with my grandmother (who by the way thinks I'm clean as an alterboy these days) just the other day. She started the talk by bringing up the fact that "you can't even trust people buying marijuana these days, they lace it with other drugs"... she then went on a rant about people that get high get so messed up that they don't know here from there and suddenly suicidal thoughts pop in their head or they think they can fly and jump off a building. Fucking bullshit dude, I got alittle pissed.

For one thing, she has never so much as smoked a joint right... she wont even take Vicodin for more than a few days (taking half of one most of the time) after surgery; but somehow she is an expert on the "drug problem", guess I should watch more drug war commercials and start skipping pharm. class if I really want to learn something eh?

I told her the same thing about the cost effectiveness of lacing pot with hard drugs, she actually said something along the lines of "well if it's coming from another country how can you be so sure" I still don't know what that is supposed to mean but I explained to her that 90% of the marijuana in this country is grown on US soil. I'm sorry but transporting pot into this country is dumber than lacing your weed with more expensive dope. If I was a smuggler I would move coke or heroin, there's more money in it and if I was going acrossed an international border I would rather have a mouse in my pocket than an elephant in my trunk. You would have to move bails and bails of pot to realize the profit that you could see off of a few dozen kilos. And regarless of it's point of origin I still see no reason (profit or returning customer-wise) that the plant material would be tainted with another chemical.

Even if it was right, drugs can't put thoughts into your head. A powdery substance doesn't magically hold inside of it suicidal tendencies, repressed memories, negative emotions, whatever... the idea is asinine. It's a fucking chemical, not a fortune cookie. Drugs are not doors, they are keys. They may open up the floodgates but plan and simple that wave was just waiting to be released inside you long before you ever ingested said drug.

It never ceases to amaze me how seemingly intelligent people believe the absolute bullshit that our government shovels to them. Even drug users believe stupid shit about other drugs that they don't use... "oh man, that PCP is a devil drug... that shit will make you nuts" hear that all the time from my Ketamine loving freinds, kinda funny they don't realize how similar the two drugs really are... or now everyone is talking about Methamphetamine. Being concerned with mostly Opaites, many of you probably think "oh well, the spot light is on a different drug... maybe it will take some attention off of Opaites", while this may be partially true in the present in the long run any demonization of any recreational drug that is taken with any seriousness at all just helps to better their war.

Those motherfucker's have cried wolf so many times I wouldn't believe them if their commercials came notarized... you know what they aren't even crying wolf they are screaming "pink elephant". Rat bastards!
