www.modern-psychiatry.com/opiates.htm (http://www.modern-psychiatry.com/opiates.htm)
I came across this site looking for a good site with opiate info. And was reading some of the stuff this guy had to say. It seems like lies lies and more bullshit. Hes talking about studies were ibuprofen and tylenol work better for pain than opiates and just goes about condemning the powerfull pain relievers. Opiates have been used for thousands of years and this guy thinks he can just say they dont work...i mean come on whats he trying to sell? He even said that opiates arent good for surgery...dudes crazy, and i think hes an MD, i believe he said so anyway.
When i did the search this is what came up:

Opiates (http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geuqlCXb1EvAsBCFpXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTB2bWNrYzd 0BGNvbG8DZQRsA1dTMQRwb3MDNgRzZWMDc3IEdnRpZAM-/SIG=1208vojnq/EXP=1153347266/**http%3a//www.modern-psychiatry.com/opiates.htm) http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sch/bn/nw2.gif (http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geuqlCXb1EvAsBCVpXNyoA/SIG=1208vojnq/EXP=1153347266/**http%3a//www.modern-psychiatry.com/opiates.htm)
Opiates are being promoted by drug manufacturers and the medical community as powerful pain relievers. However, that is simply not true. Opiates are not powerful pain relievers. They are no better than Tylenol, but much more dangerous.

Yes, it sounds to me like another great example of anti-drug propaganda (meaning anti-freedom, basically).

The more bogus "information" that's out there about how drugs are so "dangerous" and "deadly" (they LOVE that term), the easier it will be to convince Mr. and Mrs. Joe Public that it's okay to take away more and more freedoms and individual rights. That's how these things have been working for hundreds of years.

But then, that's what's so great about the internet now, too. People can come together to share the real information and spread some awareness to others about what's really going on. The best thing to do to combat such blatant attempts to stifle more rights and freedom is to simply spread the truth. Get as much accurate data and facts out there as you can to as many people.

Knowledge and education are the best tools in fighting ignorance.

I'd love to find this guy, give him a blunt amputation, and offer him some asperin for the pain. I bet he'd sure change his tune in the face of real pain. I'm real happy his asperin works for his minor aches and pains, but people have been using opiates to alleviate pain that asperin can't touch for ages. What a clown!

what a fukking chump that guy is. like you said he thinks he can contradict thousands of years of human experience with his bullshit opinion?

i say we do this: we go over to his office, smash his hand with a hammer then ask him which pain reliever he wants, tylenol or morphine? which one would the fukker chose at that point?

I love this shit! Next time I go in for surgery I can just take a tylonol and be just fine! What an idiot. Opiates and non-narcotic pain releivres don't even work the same way, as far as their pain releiving properties go. And don't forget opaites kill thousand because they cause aids, hep b/c, and even fires!!!! Next time I do an OC I better make sure to wear a condom and have a fire extinguisher handy. What a jackass!

Saying morphine doesn't offer more pain relief than aspirin is just blind ignorance. For them to get seriously injured and end up in chronic pain would be some beautiful karma.

This idiot seems to forget what makes morphine such a great painkiller is there is no ceiling effect like there is with NSAID and tylenol. That is what makes it great, it works for the worst pain or the least depending on dose. With tylenol it's 4grams a day max and if you take that for years your liver is gonna be hurt, unlike opiates which can be taken a lifetime.

Im never this harsh but id like to see that dudes teeth get knowcked out and then ask for some Ibuprofen. I dont get it can he really be an M.D.? I mean seriously, he must know hes full of shit. Maybe hes some 12 step recovery dude, thats all anti drug now. No maybe not cause i havent even heard that shit from NA or AA people, even they say you can take whats prescribed if its necessary. I had a close friend of mine who is very anti drugs now (even though he loves them), hes been in NA for years now and even he says Oxycontin is a miracle drug for people with pain. Medical Science and History proves this guy is a lyin bastard.
