ok i did "utmfse" w/no results...so..my ? is are there any known opioid/opiate drugs, compounds, plants etc that give the opiate effect..ie pain relief, euphoria..w/out any or with little wd symptoms ? i mean is there a opiate like drug that wont get you physically dependent or require a taper to prevent any wd issues...cause if there is it would be my idea of a "perfect" drug...i have been able to quit or reduce almost alll drugs i've used..except opiates/opioids..nothing is like opiates...addiction or craving a drug is one thing but having to have it to not be sick or in wd..is different....weed is not addictive..alcohol can cause dt's...coke is a craving speed same deal...but opies are in a class all their own...
even if i could taper..the mental well being feeling is gone ..nothing i've ever had could replace it...this feeling is like no other....its not a habit like smoking its a way of life....they say opiate and amphetamine addicts rarely stay clean for good like 3% or something....what is it w/this stuff???i heard of ibogaine but is it a cure for the mental addiction? is there any "cure" like burroughs talks about in junky?? getting clean is one thing...staying clean is totally different...why is methadone used to treat h addicts? i hear its more addicting w/worse wd's....canada also gives h to its addicts, but how do they control purity? is opiate addiction really curable or is methadone/bupe mgmt it? i get its a lifetime of being tied to some drug to keep you stable...what gives???

None that come to mind that would give you that "opiate" high... if they act on the opiod receptors for any amount of time you are going to withdraw regardless of what drug is filling the receptors.

The answer is "No, there isn't".
As to why methadone is used to wean you off harder-hitting opies.... I guess it's because of it's very long half-life. But there is an alternative, of course, and that's bupe, which in my humble (worthless?) opinion, is the better choice, because it has that same super-long half-life but is less likely to be abused, as it's not a full agonist, and therefore is very little fun.
The problem for us addicts is what goes on in our heads rather than what's happening at receptor level. The memory of how good opies feel is indelibly imprinted, and it's that darned thing that often has those who have gone clean falling back off the wagon.
If we could rewire our brains, there would probably be no problem.

For what it's worth, mixed agonists/antagonists are far better for tolerance and withdrawal than pure agonists. Obviously, withdrawal isn't completely eliminated but given the choice between kicking something like Kratom or Bupe versus Methadone or Heroin no one in their right mind would chose the latter. The down side is that the euphoria just isn't as great.
