this was in my local paper a week ago. it really pisses me off how the paper doesn't do any research and goes on the word of the district attorney. the rest of the article was about how the da and a judge said that a prison beating didn't occur despite video evidence. I hate this town. read:



In an unrelated matter, after 18 inmates tested positive for drug-use after an inmate smuggled marijuana into the facility last month, the prison has continued to test some inmates, warden Ralph Reish Jr. said.

Recently, an inmate who had been allowed to leave the prison for work release tested positive, indicating that an opiate was in his system, Mr. Reish said.

But the inmate’s mother called the prison to try to explain why her son had failed the test. Mr. Reish said the woman claimed her son had eaten a poppy seed bagel for lunch. Opium and related drugs are derived from the opium poppy. But, the district attorney, Mr. Rosini, said that officials doubt that’s the problem because one would have ingest an inordinate amount of poppy seeds to fail a drug test. The inmate is no longer on work release, the warden said.

I've read such things. Nothing bothers me more than the preemployment drug screen. You mean you're going to take a sample of my bodily fluids in order for me to get this job? To be honest, I'm far more productive when I'm loaded, aren't you?

I'm much more productive when I'm opiated. For example, this morning I woke up at 6:30, scrubbed my kitchen floor on my hands and knees, made my girlfriend breakfast, cleaned the damned refrigerator, and filed my taxes- all before noon!

Something very similar to this happened to myself.I had checked myself into a rehab for multiple addictions.It was a inpatient facility that was part of the denver rescue mission.Everything the mission gets, money ,supplies ,clothing,ect. is by donation only.It was a great place as far as getting you back into the cycle of life and all that.I had been there for four and a half months of a one year program.My birthday was on a weekend and I had erned weekend passes so I could visit my mom on b-day.It just so happened that I was sick as a dog that weekend but I decided to go anyway and get some long-needed rest.theres a work program at this rehab and its from 7-a.m. to 430 or something like that.It says in the handbook of this place NOT to eat poppyseeds because they use oldschool panel tests that are extremly accurate but too obtuse in the opoid field.I had a sandwich while I was there and I checked the bread to see if there were any seeds on it, I didnt see shit.When I got back up on sunday night I had to drop a wizquiz when I got there. I didnt wait aroud for the results cause I knew I hadnt taken a thing . I got back to the dorm and started unpacking my gear when the dude that dropped the test on me came in and asked to talk to me.I was still in the dark but he was real quick to fill me in on the fact that he was driving me to a town twenty miles away because I had tested pos. for opiates.(the facility was a farm a few miles away from wyoming,totally nowhere)It sucked.My uncle came up from boulder and picked me up.I cant believe they use the crappy old tests still. They should be illegal to use or manufacture anymore.Everything happens for a reason as they say.It was a condition of my probation as well to complete the rehab program, I got fucked royally on this one.Thank god its over.

natural opiates in the body help to create motivational drive in humans and animals. dopamine release is stimulated by some opiates giving way to "paradoxical stimulation". morphine is actually produced in the brain. morphine is a hormone in my opinion. I talk more about this in the opioidopamine section. in this certian part of the brain that helps create motivational drive and creative mindstates morphine administration does not produce dependence!

I agree w/youJacky. When I was monitoring my intake of pills and such I was an extremly motivated person.Always at work on time, overtime because I wanted to, my home was immaculate.The yard never looked better! But what happened?

We had that in the news too ... poppyseeds in cake and positive test. The attorney is strange if he doesnt mean another test because it is 100% sure that a drug test is positive for opies after eating 1 piece of poppy seed cake. One needs large amounts to get high but only 1 piece of cake for a positive test.
