Hydro's & the Dr.... :/

No one's probably gonna read this tonight - but if someone does, please help.. lol

Here's the story...

I went to this Dr. who prescribed me 5's... well, me having a really super ginormous high tolerance to hydro's, I went back and he gave me 7.5's. I went back the following week because well, he only prescribed like 10 )I guess to see if they worked on me, if not he would give me something stronger) - anyway - I went back around the 19th of June... he told me to come back in about a month and he would write another prescription for me... well, being that today is the 15th, I'm wondering if I should go in today (yes, he's open on Saturdays) or wait?

I don't really wanna look like a d/a walking up in there and getting weird looks from the chick that is the receptionist. (I swear, this chick is weird as all he11, and she looks at me funny :().

Someone please let me know something!! LOL I'd appreciate it a LOT!!!

I have 6 herniated discs, and 4 that has busted open... the Dr. wants surgery, but I'm not that prepared for it right now - just turning 24 and all. I've had the shots in my spine not once, not twice... but 4 times in less than a year. They suck, too. (getting off point, sorry).

I've been an addict before, then quit, then got back on everything imaginable - doubled. But I haven't taken anything (other than today) - but that was for pain. :(

agreed, you are a legitimate pain patient... regardless of what they think, and how you feel (i.e. pain or just wanna get high) you qualify.

seems weird....if you have all that damage, surely you have MRIs, XRays, something, where the doc would have no objections to giving you more 7.5's or something higher.

on top of that, 28 days is technically a month (four weeks), four days early, most likely will not get you in trouble

I may have told this already, but a friend jumped off of a pier once to get pills and he tripped just before and actually fell... went in head first, hit a rock. Injury wasn't serious and all he got for his trouble was a handful of some shitty pill (hydro 5's?) and an enormous hospital bill.

the way i look at it is this...and this is the attitude i have. I have a chronic problem and i need medication. Its the doctors job to prescribe me medication to alleviate the suffering. Just let the doc know if he wont prescribe you youll go to someone else. Now dont be rude...but let him know these things in a subtle way. Dont be afraid to tell him you need a certain medication... because if you really need it believe me youll ask for it. And that rude lady at the reception desk...screw her, she has no right to judge you and she doesnt have a PHD anyway, so she really doesnt matter. Dont psych yourself out...be confident and let the doc know what you need, and if it doesnt work out like Devilsdrug said "find another doc pronto" theres always more docs and some are much much more sensitive than others.

Instead of staying up like I intended, I fell asleep right before 7 this morning - so I have to wait until Monday morning. That way to make sure that I will indeed get them, because if not, I'm not going back to the one Dr. who kept shoveling friggin' ibuprofen, muscle relaxors & injections at me all the time. That's BS - so I changed. :)

super ginormous tolerance to hydros are - I have to take around 10 or more to just knock the pain to bareable. it's from me taking methadone awhile back - because I would take a lot of it.

however, the body gets immune to the methadone - which is way stronger than hydros ever thought about being - and it causes the hydro's not to work even after a week of taking the methadone & staying off of it.

So that's my fault. I'll admit that. lol

so you've been an addict before so i'm guessin you know your shit so i'll spare you the stupid/pointless "hydro isn't that strong and contains APAP" response, but you have some serious medical conditions and with your previous tolerance and history i'm sure you know that some morphine or oxycodone preparations would surely suite you better? or are you trying to avoid the more potent opiates and alleviate your pain with hydro only? or is your doctor only willing to prescribe hydro? sorry for all the questions and sorry if i asked a stupid question if i missed somethin in the original post

Yes. I've been an addict. Actually I would probably consider myself a backslidin' addict. I'll quit one minute, and the next I must have it or I can't strive/function.

Yeah, morphone or oxycodone would suite me better *lol*... but I don't wanna go that far. Because if I do that, then if I decide to not have surgery or anything - what's gonna help the pain later in life, yanno? I just started seeing this Dr. last month. Yes, you read that right - last month. He's a D.O., a surgeon & a family practice Dr. He's pretty awesome - and I'm not just saying that because he writes me a prescription, but because he is. I can go in there & he actually talks to me like I'm human & that people do have aches and pains.

Monday I'm going to go in & see if he won't write an order for me to have an MRI done & see if he won't give me another prescription. Like I said, it was the 19th of last month (give or take a day or 2 either way) that I seen him, he told me to come back in a month. Well, it's a month... and I actually want an updated MRI
