Oh i got tons of shit, I will post when I have more time.
Its all gangsta rap (shelly would love it)
Tracks from chi town wild hun-eds, K town, west side
tracks from NWI (north west ind for you guys that don't know: Gary (G.I. , Gangsta Island) East Chicago, Hammond
its nothing but a huge ghetto around here and wild as fuck! Gary won the murder capital of US title several times
95% of the people I know have had someone in their family murdered or in jail for murder, its a sad, depressing, poverty sticken area. The only economy is the dope economy but it leads to great quality and great prices (OC 80 for 20 bux at most, great dime bags of dope (eq. 160oxy) for $10, excellent mid grade pot (no seeds) 30 a quarter)
Keepin it raw from the nw indy to the windy
and from the nappy (Indianapolis) to the scrappy (GI)

(youll know what to do to get most of the CHILDISH fun out by playng both videos in two sep. windows, volume down in one, watching the one with no volume, but playng volume in the unsensored window...god i'm fucking frying myself here amn't i )

i used to dispise Eminem just out of principle more than anything - but once i heard this song above and then an unscensored version, i actually thought- hey -the guy might not be as far up his ass as it seemed - he can actually have a bit a fun too
ofcourse its fucking CHEESY beyound belief, but right at the same time i was up to a lot of the same shit as in that video (knew right away it was about yokes- unscensored just reaffirrmed the fact thatthe man and D12 have the ability to at least write some funny/silly-humour entertaining shite

well -wouldn't say they're my 'local', but anyhow - music like that transcends times and space as well as cultural boundaries, and well - it's just bloody rocking

was looking for 2 specific tracks that i came upon/re-discovered form some time ago, and was blown again all over again
I have the tracks, so may upload them myself on tda tube or something similar

but for now these are quite worthy of note - at least to someone with a similar taste to my own  :)
i know some of you must know these:

got a feeling the above track^^ is a rather upbeat and colourful tune which in essence is about a junkie
ther's just about enough to give the crazy-junkie-nutter theme away...could be wron gthou

Let there be rock:

The Birthday Suits- the world's only two piece Japanese band from the Twin Cities, they rock so so hard
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xshbzIwxOrk

Let there be dance:

Dance Band- the greatest band ever in the history of the world. Unfortunately, there are no videos that capture their greatness. This one is good but the female singer's microphone doesn't work and it totally kills the vibe.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnU1E8Iw9sk

Before you watch that video, know that Dance Band as seen in this video are no more. The captain has returned to his space vessel and returned to the land of tomorrow. But thousands of women are pregnant with his seed.

Oh, here's another good Dance Band video: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=4677249
God damn, I wish that microphone worked

Har Mar Superstar- fat bald dude who does this weird Justin Timberlake act and Eric Wareheim is in his newest video. I love the hell out of this. And that girl from Arrested Development is in it. It's weird.

Kind of like Dylan meets Elliot Smith, wouldn't compare him to either, but if they had a baby this is it.
He's not from the Twin Cities but he calls it his home and we call him our dude.

Thanks for the welcome back Underide. Good to be back here. I think if you came out to Cali for a couple months, you would leave with an appreciation for rap. I know my East Coast punk rock friends from rehab started to like it after awhile. Just something in the air.

Locke- Just saw Har Mar a week or two ago. It's a cool act.

We have a whole bunch of rock coming out of SF from the classics (Dead, anyone?) to Greenday- before they were gay, etc.
