It would be cool to have a java applet that linked to an IRC channel. Personally, I like using IRC the best, but for those who aren't inclined to download another program in order to do so, having the java applet would make it really simple to log on.

I like the idea of a chat room being set up on here, I know people have been blowing up the shoutbox lately so it would probably get used. I know Me Opi Blackdog and Zombiewoof would anyways.

And you can see more than what the shoutbox will scroll down to, just click "shoutbox" and it will bring back something like 120 of the last pages to read through.

I fully support the idea of getting the chat thing back. I was one of the (few?) members who made use of it before, and definitely would like to see it back, especially as I've made some quite close friends via pm who it would be nice to chat to!!

I'll be hanging out there as often as possible, henceforth. Feel free to find me there -- if I'm idle, fear not! I WILL return and see what you wrote, so don't get discouraged!

We have to build the chat up slowly until it's got activity 24/7. This willy ONLY happen if we have confidence and stay logged in 24/7 even if there's nobody else active yet. Once a big enough population builds up, the momentum will be sufficient to keep things rolling on its own. But at first, you have to remember not to be discouraged from staying logged in!
