Hey all-
Anybody know where one could procure a reusable syringe (I don't know the correct nomenclature for what it is that I am looking for- many years ago we called them glass on glass or something like that), but it would be like the kit that John Travolta's character used in Pulp Fiction. Hope this enough descritption.
I suppose as with most things, modern technology serves it's purpose and one would be better off just using the disposable insulin syringes, but I'm getting tired of the hassle trying to get them.
There is also the element of nostalgia. Thanks much! D.

I don't know if they still make them. I think they might just be the old fashioned kind. I'm pretty sure the guage of those old needles was pretty big too... so injecting with them wouldn't be that comfortable.

While the old syringes might have some novelty value, using insulin syringes is better for a few reasons. Smaller needles, and you can use a fresh, sterile one every time without having to clean it yourself.

Have you tried ebay? It is just not something you see anymore. Because of bloodborne pathogens like HIV,Hep C, reusable sharps are a thing of the past.

It may seem cool to pull out a kit like John Travolta did in Pulp Fiction, but I imagine finding one may be tough. I imagine there are those who collect that sort of thing, but finding that equipment in good shape may be difficult.

If you have the time and cash, just keep looking on the Internet. The only type of injection equipment you will find from a medical supplier is going to be the disposable type.

You can still buy them, they are used all the time for GC/MS and other lab instruments. I'm not sure where the general public could get them though!

Try a pet supply store, cattle & livestock store, or avetirinary hospital/office. If you're close to a Farmer's Co-op, definately try that.
