I asked a sky diver how much horizontal drift is possible from a drop of 30,000 feet...he told me that with standard winds, about 6 miles.

seeing as how a sky dive drop is 25$ anywhere that uses a sky diving club membership, I could see some sky diver packing 10-30 pounds of primo up near the border in canada, and dropping into the states undetected might be a real possibility, compared to the human mules that backpack the canadian goods into the united states, this way might be a little quicker.

dont know if anyone has done such a thing, just thought it would be an interesting ploy.

Thats a fantastic idea. I wouls think that with certain modifications you could go a hell of a lot further than six miles.
