cats claw is an herb.
it has alkaloids present.
some that are bioactive.
some data suggests that cats claw can potentiate methadone and buprenorphine.
enough said, there is more information and data, and also forum discussions that address this same issue.

I joined too just to ask this question and finally broke down and tried it. I now have half a bottle of unused cat's claw as I feel nothing from it. Of course it could be bunk cat's claw. I'm sure there is a difference between say bottled kava kava and drinking out of a wooden bowl fresh in Hawaii.

Cat's claw is an herbal supplement that is reportedly used to help stimulate the immune system. Because little is known about the effectiveness of herbal supplements it is hard to say.
While many who take them claim they work and are effective, others report having no effect at all.
Some herbal supplements can interact with prescription meds given and I don't really recommend taking any supplements unless your doc has given you the OK.
If your on Methadone as part of a Maintenance Program for opiate addiction and have a high tolerance to opiates, your most likely not going to get the euphoria effects of Methadone that you might get with other opiates.
In my opinion, if your on Methadone as part of a detox or Maintenance Program, it defeats the purpose of using on top of your daily dose if your looking to get a buzz going. Most end up on a higher dose of Methadone or back to using other opiates.
If your just looking to get high and not interested in a "Maintenance Program" of Methadone, then I would suggest using another type of opiate. Methadone, in my opinion is just not the drug of choice when looking for a good quick high. And if you are on/looking at Methadone Maintenance as a recovery type program or detox program, than getting high or looking for those euphoric effects is hard to acheive with Methadone.
I would suggest the same with Suboxone. Methadone or Suboxone are really only effective for those who are looking to detox off of opiates. You will get better results with other opiates and as I said, using while on Meth/Sub only defeats the purpose and prolongs your agony.
