why am I being drug tested?

I went to the doc this morning for my monthly hydro refill for a chronic illness and I had to sign a stack of papers saying ill bring my bottle in, use the same pharmacy and submit random drug tests. This is a normal doc and I have no previous record of drug use.I have been seeing hm for 6 months now He came back and said I tested pos. for some adhd drug. I really dont know what that could be from. He however never mentioned the weed I have smoked everyday since I was a teenager or the pt from last week. I got my prescription but it took 2 hours and now I am nervous that they sent out for more test:( . Has this happened to anyone else?

If your Doc plans on you being a long term pat, he may just be covering his arse. Finding abusable drugs in your system gives him a free pass if he decides to quit RX'ing the hydro. He may not have ordered a pot screen, but be on your toes if you want him to keep filling your hydros.

What happaned to you is not uncommon anymore. It looks as though he may be looking at a long term relationship, don't mess it up with attitude and be ready to be tested. If your insurance is paying for your treatment, he will probobly keep testing you from time to time, its a few more bucks in the pocket for him.

thanks......that makes me feel a little better. I was real nice and cool about it. I just didnt understand after 6 months why he drug tests me. I was also afraid that the testing isnt completed and hes gonna bust me for the weed. If I do pods, is that going to show up as a differant drug than hydro? I am not sure whats in hydro.

Poppy Tea will not usualy show up a week after, especialy just one cup.

Yes, tea will show up differently than hydrocodone; as hydrocodone does not leave morphine metabolites in your system, so the test for hydro is different than the test for other opiates.
