I needed to share the good news with everyone. After all the bullshit I have gone through, for those who have read my previous threads, you know what i am refering to... I have been vindicated.

Since leaving the hospital a few weeks ago, I have been in severe pain. With no narcotics, and no doctors willing to write for me (after almost 3 years of daily use). The migraines had gotten so bad that my face swelled up and my eyes looked black and blue. I have been waiting to get into pain managament to start back up on my OC script... but the process is taking forever.

I called my old neurology group (the one that cut me off the OC in the hospital cold turkey) and spoke to, who I am now calling, my angel. She was my old Neuros (who left due to a stroke) assistant. I told her the whole story and she was shocked. Could not beleave that someone in that practice would put me in the situtation I was in... Within 15 minutes, she had my oxycotin script in hand, and a sympathtic neurologist in the practice will to take up my case. Who happens to be the chief of the neuro science department. Hehe, this means the asshole who put me through hell, cut me off, and refused to do anything to help me, just very weell may be feeling heat for his actions.

For the first time in three weeks, I am pain free, stress free and no longer worried about obsticles in my health treatment. Oh yeah, did I mention all buzzed up cause my tolerance decreased.... hehe... Sweet

I love it when the health care system works for the patient and not aganist.

That's awesome... it's always nice to hear about a bit of justice. If you find out what happens to the jerk that put you through that, I'd be curious to hear about it. Some people just assume that anyone who uses opiates is a lowlife, whether or not they were given to them by a doctor. Some of them seem to figure getting off the drugs is just a matter of having a little self control, and no more difficult than avoiding getting started in the first place. They like to think that they've got the self control to not be addicted, so they'd be able to get off them if they were in your shoes, and you need to suck it up and be like them. That attitude irritates me.

I'm glad it worked out for you antigone!! I too suffer from migraines, and I take MSContin, so I can just imagine what you were going through!

Have you had many MRIs? You may find, as I did, that your migraines are caused by lesions on the brain. I wish you the best and my prayers go out to you.. No one can understand just how bad migraines are till they've suffered through one for a few days in a row! It's enough to drive someone mad.

Good luck with your treatment. If you ever wanna talk feel free to PM me; I've been dealing with migraines since I was about 7. :)

Nooooo Shit!!!!!

I am nowhere as bad as Jab or Anti, but I get migranes about once a year since Ive been 11 years old. You cant even move let alone open your eyes they hurt so bad. Every time it switches from summer to winter, I get a 3 day long migraine that wont go away!!! Thank god for dope, even though sometime they get so bad even that barely helps. So yeah......MIGRANES SUCK!!!!!

The absolute worst part, for me at least, is how sick to the stomach I get too.. After I've had the migraine for a few hours I start to throw-up regularly.. which is hell because the stress of vomiting makes the pain even wose. Eventually I'm like blind, crying, throwing up, and praying to just die as soon as possible.

Migraines are no joke for sure.

that's great news kiddo! even though it was horrible to go thru i thought from reading your posts you handled it very well and bravely i might add, because facing what you go thru on a daily basis would make my lie down in a corner and cry after about 10 minutes.

i'll add my congratulations as well. i can't tell you how many times i've heard similar stories. i can't believe there isn't some sort of standardized medical formula for lowering dosages. it's just unbelievable that a patient could be on a morphine or oxy prescription for years, taking hundreds of mgs daily and then one day - through a change of doctors or a change of address or something stupid - they just take the prescription away. i don't see how this doesn't qualify as malpractice. even if you change doctors, the new doctor, even if he decides to take away the opiate, should have to do so gradually. when a doctor takes on your case he takes responsibility for dealing with all of your conditions, chemical dependence, especially when the condition was created by a doctor, is part of your condition. i mean if you get a new doctor he can't just decide not to deal with a tumor - just say he doesn't want to deal with it. if that happened he'd be sued for sure.

well at least this turned out well for you. for many others it doesn't.
