Please forgive me if i m posting in the wrong place, but this is of major importance. I just came off 'done maint from 100 to 3mgs in like i dunno 9 or 10 days. So I am I have been hangin round my clinic and a buddy of mine n me are in same boat...Kinda I am trying to leave it all behind me and just get through this horrible w/d by taking a kpin, bar, football, valium or whatever here or there. He is after said benzos as well but also slamming H. So yesterday he tells me that his friend got dropped off meth maint from 120mgs to O. Nada. So my buddy's friend went to the hospital and they said you are gonna be fine. They prescribed him 3 valium a day and 3 ___________ a day. I cant remember the name of the drug for the life of me, but they were big orange capsules. 300 mgs. He said they would most def help me through my struggle as he went from 120 to nothing, could hardly move he was in such bad shape, then took a 10mg valium and a 300mg ____________ and felt NO withdrawl at all. He said he felt fine and said he would sell me a few if I need some help. Anyway he said they are new, he might even be one of the first people to be prescribed them...? I dunno bout that shit sounds like some research study BS, but this dude was in day 4 without having his daily 120mg dose and he is smilin and laughin and like he was never on 'done let alone going thru w/d. Sorry to make this longer than it has to be, but does anyone know what those orange 300mg capsules were that completely stop the opioid w/d? Cause from what a few people sey they are a miracle drug. Stupid me saw the actual bottle and cant remember the Rx or generic name.... Any help is appreciated but as much info as possible is REALLY appreciated. Much love 2 all.

Neurontin (Gabapentin)?

The 300mg come in big orange capsules. I suppose they could help with withdrawal.

Yeah I was just going to say Gabapentin, cos that's what they look like. But 300mg isn't much of a dose, so it's really unlikely that they could mitigate done WDs so effectively.

That's what I was thinking, Neurontin or Gabapentin. Any of those ring a bell Op???

I'm wondering how/why the circumstances necessitate dropping people from such high doses so quickly.

All it takes is do it to a guy with one mitigating condition, like a heart problem, and your pen and paper choice just killed a guy.

You'll be fine. Pfft.

I've done some gabapentin in the past few weeks, so I'll vouch for what I experienced.

The first few days on it, it helped me nod on when I took more suboxone than I normally do. This effect lasted about a week, before I was looking at taking amounts in the gram/multi-gram range, even for diminished effect.

Tolerance builds quickly, but they'll be helpful for about a week before 'buying' them off your guy will become unfeasible, especially with the 300mg pills.

For you they'll help with the RLS somewhat, I wouldn't expect a nod, but it'll diminish symptoms somewhat like taking a benzo would. These do affect rls symptoms for me more than benzos do.

Coming off I was a bit edgy and it felt exactly like a three day moderate benzo kick. Depression, edginess, quickness to anger, sleeplessness. Just stuff like you would associate with anything involving GABA, like others have said.

Good luck man, that's a shitty situation you and a lot of other folks are in. Shitty sounding clinic.

youre kidding, right??

addiction medicine mumbo jumboe BS.

the ONLY 'orange' pill to stop w/d that isnt a full agonist is suboxone.

'its time to pay the price.'
