I know when I'm in W/D I have MADD anxiety, and get intimidated by even going to the gas station. Now I've noticed even when on opiates I have become anti-social and tend to avoid people often. And when I'm stuck in conversation I feel my blood just start fuckin boiling....I haven't tried quitting for more than 2 weeks, but at the 2 week mark I still had it. I just hate anxiety. I use to be such an out-going people person. Hell I worked in sales for half my life.... I don't know... maybe this belongs in the Piss & Moan.

I have social anxiety naturally. Being on opiates clears it right up for me--I become chatty, energized, and fearless.
However the minute I come down I find myself getting annoyed over the slightest thing, and snap at anything that might be wasting my time. Because I know what it is I try and take a step back before I react. (Needless to say this doesn't always work)

Yeah I was totally the same way. I take breaks though. Use for 2 weeks, quit for 2...and I'm wondering if forcing myself to W/D so often is causing added stress and anxiety long-term? Though my habit is only 90-120mg of hydro a day.

The problem is that life is too complicated to have that easy of an answer. And opiates really feel like that easy of an answer some of the time. Tricky bastards. . . . . I don't think you can ever rely on substances to get you were you want to be consistently. My problem is that I just can't give up trying.
I always have bad social anxiety/generalized anxiety after using opiates for a bit, and it lasts quite awhile for me. I am not sure if I just have a natural anxiety disorder, or if its a result of using opiates. I am not a psychologist, so I apologize if I come off as an idiot, but you need to sort of re-learn how to deal with people in a sober state of mind. Its the same deal as re-learning how to cope with issues/emotions in a sober state of mind.
The best way to get over the social anxiety thing is to force yourself into an uncomfortable social situation everyday. Its uncomfortable and stressful, but it really does help. You will see a huge improvement in just a few weeks if you stick with it.
