dextromethorphan and buprenorphine withdrawal

successful trans from approx 4mg sub snorted a day to 0mg using dxm in 400mg range daily when needed.
granted, this dose makes me, eh, 'spaceman' for lack of a better descriptor but it has been the only thing to really work for a final final transition.

3year tar habit, been on 4-8mg sub insuffed daily for three weeks. on day 12 only dxm and im in the clear i think.
best detox ever. seriously.

They always seem to mix it up with acetaminophen or guaifenesin. They've also removed a lot of the alcohol from most cough syrups and now, just like Pseudofed you have to show ID at the register at most places. They don't want the kiddies to get their hands on anything that could potentially be abused anymore. Eh, I digress...

I know you can buy pure DXM on the net but besides that I'm wondering if there's still a product they haven't taken off the market that you can take w/o all the other crap in there that's unnecessary for the effect you're after.

still some trouble falling asleep, but during the day when id otherwise be dragging and moaning with sore muscles and bones trying to jump out of my flesh i can be happily productive and active... albeit a lil effed up. dosage is critical, too much and yer a freaking robot from some other dimension but just enough provides a glow and removes any lingering aches and anxieties during the day.

I think it's a great withdrawal tool. The only problem with it is that tolerance builds to the effects of DXM as well. So, in my experience, DXM is only good for detoxing the first couple times you use it. After that it seems to lose it's magic.

It's been a long time now since I've tried it so maybe it's time to give it another shot.

i've allways found tripping on higher stages of DXM reduces greatly the wds. But tripping on DXM is not for everyone.
I too consider the best detoxes i been too.
In fact i consider it so good that i've taken 4 times naltrexone with the DXM to reduce WD time from days to a mere 12 hours. Also not for everyone..

Robo cough gels or any other cough gels make me VOMIT my brains out when I take them in quantity.

I never have nausea when using DXM syrup though, I fear that there might be something to the gelcaps that makes people nauseated when taking more than a few of them.

Needless to say, DXM will cure full blown full agonist withdrawal for me in a matter of 30 minutes. I only take about 150mg, any more than that, I feel like I'm on Mars and my eyes get blown wide.

DXM is also very difficult to sleep on, it's got a stimulatory effect.

so, update....

its like a whole bunnch more days since my last opiod of any kind, dxm is only 'some days' when i have esp bad junkie gut or aches/lethargy. then dosage of about 150mg seems to right me.

smoking lotsa weed, working(physical and mental), and watching soap operas with my mom.

longest i been 'sober' and functional since i can recall...

dxm is not to be ignored, imho.

SLEEP is still an issue, had goddamned bones trying to jump outta my flesh last night all night. ativan .5 or 1 mg and some beer seems to help, again, liberal application of marijuana as well.

I was in the Supermarket this weekend called Winn Dixie and they had 4 brands of cough medicine on the shelves where every thing is discouted. Tuffisin or a word like that was on the label of two of the brands. They were marked down to $3.00 and $3.50 a bottle and there were about 20 bottles maybe more.

I just found another product (other than DayQuil Cough) with DXM being the only active ingredient, and better yet, it's a capsule not a syrup which makes it much easier to take and for me it makes it easier on the stomach. It's CVS's store brand, and called "Tussin Cough Liquid Gels." 20 pills with 15mg DXM in each for about $5 or $6 I think.
