I have been taking vicodin for two years now, by prescription. But sometimes I run out and take whatever I can borrow or buy. I know that my vicodin doesn't show up in my UAs, but now I have Oxycodons, that I bought from a friend, and I'm wondering if they will be missed in the tests too. They test only for street drugs, but some prescription opioids are close enough to cause a positive. Does anybody know?

Vicodins not showing up your UA? A typical 5-panel test screens for opiates, regardless of where you got the opiates (in the street or off the shelf) will show positive for any of those things. Your best bet is to read the first post in this forum. (I can't believe that you've made it this far without getting popped for a dirty UA...?)
I took a 7-panel with Tramadol in my system before and it came up with both opiates and PCP. Funny how that one worked out.
If you have a prescription for the Vic's use it as leverage against testing dirty of opiates of any kind. Unless they send it in for full analysis, there's really no way (that I know of) to differentiate between the two on a panel screen....

Typically opiates show in drug screens up to 72 hours after use. Much depends on what kind of test you are taking. Employers usually use a simple "panel" test(with immediate results) or they collect a sample that is sent out for a lab analysis( can be highly specific as to what exact drug is found). Need to know the time and amount of dose v. the test the employer gives(nanogram thresholds). Usually hydrocodone(Vicodin) will not show on a disposable test kit 36-48 hrs after use,but OC ...you got me. There are some products that actually do mask opiates if taken properly. The thing about tests are...you never know. Body fat, water and food ingestion, vitamins etc all can affect a test. The best thing to do(if you must be tested) is to buy a quantity of the disposable kits and test yourself on a regular basis. Adjust with masking agents as needed. Sorry no help on the oc,and I agree with Billi...can't believe you ain't been hit yet. Good luck.

Actually, only codeine heroin and morphine show up on standard urinalysis tests (codeine metabolizes into morphine in the body). Hydrocodone and Oxycodone will not show up on a standard 5 panel test. I know this from experience as well.
