If anyone wants to download the episode, it was pretty good..
It's Law and Order SVU Season 11 Episode 7.
They had their psychiatrist bring up Ibogaine treatment when they were dealing with a witness who was hooked on heroin and had a pretty good discussion about it.
It's cool to see stuff like this on TV I guess.
Oh well...anyone else see the episode? What are your thoughts?

Sorry I think I posted this in the wrong forum...I didn't know this was private...maybe someone could move this to the opiates on tv \ news \ media board?

Yeah I watched it.

I really don't know that much about the drug, but it made me kind of curious.

Was what they were saying pretty accurate? Or did they exaggerate a bit with the statistics?

It was definitely a good episode though.

I am almost certain the stats were exaggerated.
I haven't actually tried it though...it's still retarded to make it illegal in the USA.
At least get some decent studies.

Really really cool episode. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but I loved the end of the episode.

yea the ending was really good and as far as it being exaggerated from i looked up after watching the episode ibogain has a like 90% success rate and comparing that to n/a which has a 5% success rate and methadone and suboxone which for alot of people just becomes their new addiction

its kinda well whats the words im looking for oh yeah fucking outrages that its legal just shows that with the right money even the fda can be bought which is just scary

S0 much of their information was inaccurate. I don't know whether it was good for social awareness of an amazing compound but I know for sure one thing. You will under no circumstances be able to drive while on Ibogaine much less stand or slowly move your head to the left while laying still in bed.

I don't recall the stats but they probably weren't exaggerated though studies haven't been going on long enough with a large enough sample to really get a good grasp of relapse rates. NIDA denies its value as does the DEA but this is just more of the same and places like this and MAPS and Iboga conventions etc...may one day allow us to take Ibogaine under medically supervised conditions. Eliminating 95% of the WD's only having to endure the discomfort of the Ibogaine itself. It's what you do after that makes the difference but Ibogaine seems to help you there with, what I understand, to be a new neurotransmitter noribogaine that sticks with you for a while afterwards helping with cravings and such.
Although it is a great potentiator for a long time after your dose so unfortunately rich people go down to avoid withdrawals then go home and use, and sadly, die.
Keep your fingers crossed for this stuff.

Opi... Have you used Ibo?

I have never met anyone who has and am curious to get a first hand account of what the experience is like. The only places where I even hear it referenced is Fear and Loathing.. The Campaign Trail of 72... and a bit on Erowid and some of the Entheogenic sites....

No, but soon, I'm working on it now just for experience not for kicking but I have read many accounts. Witnessed, on video, many people during a session and personally talked to Deborah Mash, Rocky Caravelli and others on the phone about the sessions. I've also read many accounts from others who have done it like Pinchbeck (who I kinda see as a D-bag) Shasha and a few others I cant recall this early in the morning.
Oh and I've talked to a person who works here in the US helping addicts through an underground network.
Plush there are plenty of videos of the Bwiti intiations and treatments on the internet though they aren't taking extracted isolated alkaloids, they are taking ground root bark straight and have been doing so for thousands of years so they dance while they are on it no matter if they are vomiting or not. The shamans almost seem to force them to get up and move rather than lay and relax as much as they can under the circumstances. That I couldnt handle for opiate detox. For them they use it for depression, GI tract problems, questions they cant answer etc.

I would like to have seen it, I'll look for it in the future on-line. What makes me laugh about the DEA and FDA even though they have the power to control the chemicals on the earth as individuals they have to deal mentally with the facts that their liars, look like fools to those in the know, their stupid to the N/th degree and we know this so when we look at them I have no pity for their actions and make sure I share that gesture with them. I look them in the eye with a smile on my face that say's your not wise your only wise in your own eyes and can't look in the mirror and say "I'm an honorable person. I would need to change". Ibogane therapy can only get better and better, so I'll keep that as my happy thought. For those other guys, may there lives be full, with mania, depression, and shame.

I would be curious to see what the trip reports say about this stuff.

I am not much of a psychonaut anymore. I would consider mushrooms, but I don't even think LSD woudl float my boat. Lasts too long. So I think as a recreational drug Ibo would really be out the window....

I sure find that shit interesting though!

Yeah I don't think recreational Ibo exists. It's not a fun experience in any report I've read.

Any idea where I can find the episode to watch online? I checked Demonoid and Hulu and found nothing. I'd love to see it, but found nothing. :(
