#4 vs. tar......can tar be #4??

well i guess you know the question, when i read things on this site...i always see tar being compared to powder in these terms: #4 vs tar if im not mistaken and someone please correct me if im wrong #3 is heroin base and #4 is water soluble and im not sure if there is a 1 or 2 . But tar is h2o soluble as well. Can anyone enlighten me a little

all i know is #3 is oil based and needs citric to dissolve it. Thats all we get in England. I have seen Docus though with tar being cooked up without anything to break it down.

Heroin comes in two forms, as a water soluble salt (eg Heroin hydrochloride), or freebase.
The salt form is water soluble, the freebase is not water soluble.
The freebase form has a lower boiling point the salt, so the freebase is better for smoking.

The heroin most common in Europe is heroin freebase, which is why it needs acid to dissolve, and is most commonly smoked. The heroin most common in the USA is heroin hydrochloride which is water soluble already, and isn't good for smoking.

The heroin numbering scheme was is to do with heroin produced in South East Asia. Heroin #4 was very pure heroin hydrochloride. The heroin #3 was simply heroin #4 with caffeine added to it, as this lowers the boiling point and makes it better for smoking, but it's still heroin hydrochloride. The heroin #3 was mostly consumed on the local South East Asian drug market, and generally not exported, although the heroin #4 was exported and was the most commonly available heroin worldwide for a long time.

So basically, the heroin in Europe is NOT heroin #3, as European heroin is the freebase, and heroin #3 is the hydrochloride, although both the freebase heroin and heroin #3 are designed for smoking, they don't contain the same form of heroin.

no idea mate, but there seems to be a strong divide, ive never come across water soluble gear over here, all oil based for booting (smoking)

I think it all has to do with demand, & the producers just don't bother..

I've seen some local shit here which works much much better with citric in it
(it's like a psuedo-tar thing.. not dark like coal it's brown & gummy looking,

I find an acid will break down all the horrible mess it's cut with, then again
may be better off leaving that shit in the spoon but when it clogs like 2 min.
