Tramadol Potency and SSRI's: A Question

In the past SWIM has always been a huge Tramadol lover, it always got SWIM super high without issues and was one of SWIM's favorite opiates. SWIM even got hooked on them for a while and when he came off it was the worst depression he's ever had combined with opiate w/ds. Anyways, more recently SWIM had a pretty expensive addiction for 6 months to ultra high potency kratom extracts which he needed to take every 4-8 hours to avoid w/d's. SWIM has since come off of the kratom extracts, only for about 5 days now (he feels great, no more w/ds), but has taken 300mg tramadol yesterday and felt practically nothing, 400mg today and still hardly noticeable opiate effects. SWIM used to get super high on this stuff all the time.

A website that I saw said that Sertraline could reduce the effects of Tramadol and SWIM just came off of a small 50mg per day regimen (1 day before he got the trams) of Sertraline which is a very low dose and SWIM even forgot to take it on some days. I'm wondering if Tramadol is not having the same effects for SWIM because of the SSRI that he was on or if it's because he had an addiction to much stronger opiates recently. I really hope that if SWIM stops taking trams for a few days now that he's off the stronger opiates then he'll be able to get high off tramadol again.

I know this is a jumbled post, but what do you guys think? Is it the SSRI or the fact that SWIM has done stronger opiates recently? Will SWIM be able to get high on tram again? Even though he just came off the kratom extracts I know that his tolerance is very low in comparison (15mg oxy would get him pretty high) and it seems like the Tramadol should be working but it's not which makes me wonder if it's the Sertraline. Will it take 2 full weeks for the Sertraline to wear off? Any help/discussion appreciated.

Yeah.. I know about the dangers, thats why SWIM stopped taking the SSRI the day before SWIM got the Tramadol. I'm just wondering if it's still in his system for 2 weeks after stopping and making the trams ineffective since apparently it does effect potency by changing how it's metabolized in your body. Or it could be because SWIM had an addiction to strong kratom extracts until about a week ago. Maybe both?

Did you get high off of 15 mg of oxy since quitting the kratom? If so, that's weird. If not, then I think it's just tolerance from the kratom, a week won't completely reset your tolerance and I know personally that when I took 3 teaspoons of kratom a dose (not even extract) adding 50 mg of hydro to my dose did absolutely nothing. So I think it's just tolerance, tramadol isn't that strong compared to kratom if you were taking good extracts.

If you wait long enough I'd say you'll eventually be able to get a buzz from tramadol. But a week is nothing. I'd try again in a month or two. (After maybe trying one more time in 2 weeks just to make sure it's not because of the SSRI.)

I take a number of anti-depressants and use tramadol in high doses in sometimes for that nasty buzz and to hold me through when I've got nothing else. I've noticed that yes, you can develop a bitch of a tolerence to it. You may be having tolerance issues.
