first morphine Rx, 4g/day?

To alleviate extreme pain, my rx prov has prescribed oral morphine, 1000mg four times daily. This seems a bit excessive to me, but he assures me I will adj to the side effects promptly. Ive taken codeine, hydrocoedone, and Tyl#3..but never morphine.

I thought this person might have accidentally added a couple zeros in that 1000mg 4x day dosage, but the thread title says 4g/day. Zack, is there any reason your doctor might want to kill you?

Reading the original post, images pop into my mind of a villainous cyclopean dr. in a soap opera, who has decided to do away with the charming, yet naive leading man in order to further his relationship with the latter's seductive wife. A woman the dr. has been having an affair with for the past 5 years. The dosage is beyond excessive, but murders in soap operas always are.

Are you currently taking any opiates Zack? Are you sure the dose prescribed is 4g a day? Please double check this.

They were also members who were taking 4 grams of morphine a day.

Man you hit the mother load, good for you ,your doc must be a great guy. Also you must have great insurance, or your are paying for this out of pocket, I know that morphine is cheaper than Oxy but still that is, 600 pills of the 200mg MsCont, if that is what your are taking. Just be carefull you know your tolarnce better than any one else.

I meed your MD... I only get 3 30's prn pluss my D4's ...
are you shue it isn't 100 mg q ??? my couse is on 200 every 6 hrs and he's bin cronjc for 10 years
4 g a dat is kinnda high for some one who isn't tolarent to mo fo... I hit it hard myself and don;t come close to that ( yell most of the time9 : ) god Im sick for the next few hours.. waiting for the drug store to open ...

mscotton also comes in 250 mg I have had them before... NJ sux but it if a oritractable pain state like texas
so the the sky is the limit if you qualifie for treatment

Yes, they were my pets (Chelsea was a dog actually, Ivy and Silky were cats,) and they were very special to me. The other members taking four grams a day comment did make me laugh out loud though.
