How do you register if there is blood already in your rig?

I was wondering how you guys and girls go about doing this, after a hit and then a slip or something, as it is usually impossible to see that "red mushroom cloud of joy" when your entire syringe is crimson colored on its own. I usually make a tiny air-bubble, just small enough to so that I can see if so red jumps in there or not.

What are your methods? My buddy has 2 rigs, each full with 20 bags of tar. He went for one but after he registered, about half way through the shot, the rig slipped just a tad (sweaty hands my buddy has) and it caused him to have to take a new shot at it.

Suggestions?

Well, if the syringe starts filling up as you draw blood back in, it must be in the vein !

this is a bitch, but doesnt always mean your shot is shot (depending on how much blood gets in before you fuck up). i have a few non-foot veins that register great, yer in for sure, but you push in a bit and the fucker starts swelling up, and you gotta try another with a totally opaque blood needle.

if the thing is absolutely clouded with blood, carefully trying a spot and watching to see if more liquid is entering the rig by the little unit marks works (you can still see if you're drawing up a vacuum or not, at the very least, see what im saying?). otherwise, holding your arm/rig up to a bright lamp while trying can help if its not totally opaque red.

remember you got a time limit, shits gonna start clotting, but dont rush it. just be aware

how big of rig?
best (of the worst) bets is to empty 1/2 the rig and pull up clean sterile water
so you can see through the liquid again.
or if all else fails -PLUG IT

I just shake the rig up. Sure everything is red then, but the blood from your arm is really dark so it still stands out. Just watch carefully.

if you sort of pay attention you'll be able to feel when the needle is in - the texture, or.....i dunno how to describe it....especially after shooting for a bit and the skin/veins get a little harder - you can feel less resistance when you're in....

other than that, just pulling back on the plunger a little, it's either going to suck back down to where it was, or it'll pull a little blood and stay as it.

sometimes air might stay in it...but, either you'll get blood or you won't, and you don't need to see red to see that something's newly added in there.

Maybe it would have been more understood if it read " 2 rigs with a 20 of tar in each".

Either way, when this happened to me, which it has quite a few times, I would dump the shit back in the spoon, get my handy dandy plugging syringe and do the do. And then hope next time yielded better results.

Maybe why I totally forgoe IV and stick to IM after cooking the shit out of the black and using wheel filters.

just try to find it again and pull that fucking plunger back.....if u see a space/air in between the tip and liquid then ur not it

if its really already darkred and you somehow have to re-register you can only tell by pulling the plunger back way more easily once you hit plus you can see theres more blood now in the syringe than before

I guess it takes a keen eye to discern whether or not you can see a plume of new blood filling the rig.

I'd suggest diluting it a bit but no one wants a big ol' diluted shot.

W/tar and blood?: It's just a mess, no really "good" way around it...they darker the register, the worse it gets...I've seen people try everything, but nothing really worked good: if I've got "seconds" I usually just squirt it out...unlike sane people who would just swallow it and start over: plenty of H and dilaudid down the drain, in my bad old days...

Register...start to miss...register again...start to miss again....as the rig fills up...bad business...junky life.

Yea, it is this damn tar SWIM has been getting recently. Usually it breaks down to a lighter brown, but this stuff is black as the night sky. I haven't seen tar this dark since around 2004 when I lived in Vegas.

SWIM squirted the blood and tar that was already in the rig back out, added a tad more tar (about $10 worth/half of the next chunk) with about 40ui distilled water, cotton and then we were off. It was still dark and there was still blood in it, although the cotton filtered most of that out. But once SWIM hit he knew it.

I just leave like 1 unit of air so when I hit I can see the blood fill up that space. I know your pain though, you need to hit fast before the blood clots up and doign that (at least for me) I tend to miss again because I am rushing to get that hit in before it clogs.

If you have access to something called a Butterfly needle, this can be helpful for you.

Basically, attached to the needle is ~8inches of IV tubing, you start the iv with saline, once it is established, then you swap out your saline rig, with your DOC rig.

If you don't have access to B-fly needles, then one can use the vacuum/fill idea. If you pull back, and you're NOT in, then the plunger will return due to vacuum. If you pull back and ARE in, then the plunger will fill with the new volume.

Well, some people have a high tolerance, so I don't make assumptions about load.

Plus, as much as some bags are cut (think cheese) one might need a hefty dose.

Another reason for legalisation: purity and KNOWN concentration of drug.

Just one word of warning with the Butterfly needles:

You can sometimes get carried away with how easy it is too shove lots of gear into yourself, over an hour or so.

Waking-up with the needle still in you isn't very glamourous, nor is it very safe.

PS-- Think about buying some filterwheels if you're able to (if you're buying B-fly needles, you should be able to get the syringe filters--0.2um are decent and a world better than cotton filtering).
