View Full Version : crafting with pods...no,really..super neato

a friend got a bunch of golfball sized tan pods, very uniform in size and unmarked -however after many attempts at tea(all properly executed)... nada, in fact he was still ill -anyhow,he gave the rest to me - so i cut the stems out carefully with a craft knife and popped about 25 of them onto a strand of fairy lights (clear christmas tree lights) -using a little dab of e6000(clear tape could do) in back to hold them firm-and hung them in my lounge -they are quite thin walled and when the lights are on they glow beautifully-they are really, really cool looking -a great decorating idea for any home opium den -try it!

Sounds lovely. However, I'm afraid something like that wouldn't last too long around here. Can we see some photos of the illuminated pods in a darkened room?

at present i have no way to post pix however,next week i get a digicam cuz i am going to start selling some of my stuff online and will need photos-will certainly post the podlites they really are dazzlingly lovely ooh i just changed them to red lites soooo pretty!

just hot glued the rest around an oval wall mirror as aframe-very organiclly nifty lookin
this is so cool how many other "craft supplies "can you actually make crafts froim- havin a blast(but i will shut up with the craft geek stuff now)

Sounds very cool.. did you do something to the pods so they won't rot?

If you have it, or paint them, or dip 'em in liquid latex (ah, I think that was a joke)...

Really, it does sound very cool... can't wait for the pics!
