subcutaneous injection

So i just injected some of my msir into my belly it was only 10mg but prob only got out like 5mg. Is this a stupid method? I cant just go out and buy needles so i cant do it often but i noticed that if i IV just 10mg of morphine it hits me very very hard and gets me glowing really good but subcutaneous i felt nothing. My normal intake would be 180-210 mg of morphine. Thoughts?

Yeah, I have some thoughts on that :)

I remember asking about skinpopping (As I believe the kids call it these days) morphine a year ago, and from what I remember, everybody were up in arms about me risking all sorts of nasty shit. (Infections, and the like) Whether thats true or not, I don't know, but the warning is hereby passed on!

Morphine loses most of it's strength when you eat it, so if you IV or IM it, you get around that. That's why it feels really fucking good when you shoot it. As you can see on this table:

Equivalence to morphine 30 mg oral (1) Drug Dosage Ratio morphine (subcutaneous) 10 mg 1:3 morphine (intramuscular) 6 mg 1:5 morphine (intravenous) (2) 5 mg 1:6 oxycodone (oral) (3) 15 mg 1:2 hydromorphone (oral) (4) 6.5-7.5 mg 1:4-5 hydromorphone
(subcutaneous/intramuscular) 1.3-2.0 mg 1:15-25 fentanyl (transdermal patch) 50 mcg/hr (*) complex codeine (oral) 180 mg (**) 6:1 codeine (intramuscular) 120 mg (**) 4:1
Morphine works better when you shoot it SC, vs. eating it, but it's still only half as strong as IV/IM.
Your route of administration is obviously up to yourself, but considering the ease of IMing it, and the lesser risk involved with SC, I'd def go for IM if you HAVE to use a needle.


OT: Considering all the questions we get about equivalent strenght of morphine, maybe we should sticky this table?

swelling - how fitting
you would be going under your skin and you'll be getting - a swelling (no matter how small or pronounced)

Anyways -I don't think your method is stupid but it could lead to infections/absess
You really need to have very clean hands, make sure the rig is new, clean and sterile and then use an alcohol swab to clean the area you're going into

I have seen this done myself when s/one was being given a dose of insulin (if i remember correctly that it was insulin)

And the area he was using was just where you're thinking of - around your bellybutton
But that works best if you're not TOTALLY skinny, and have at least some fatty tissues around you belly button, so you could squeeze some of the skin and inject into the 'fold' or 'squizzed' up area

But that was definitly medication pharmaceutically designed for injection that i was talking about
Shooting pills you could be asking for an absess, so please consider that too before you inject any tablet (within reason :))


And the fact that you get nothing from subqutaneous 10mg morphine is most likely simply due to the fact that IV is still considerably stronger ROA than SubQ or IM
The dosage was most like just too small for you too feel anything via SubQ, where have you iV'd that same dose it you would have gotten the effects you've described

Once again - be careful slamming pills and even though I myself still do stupid things too once in a while, i still do try and take as many precautions as i could use and hope for the best

Sure,it works and is pretty efficent,but unless you're using dope made specifically for injection.....you risk abscess and infection and that ain't good.In fact it can be very bad.

EleusisII thanks for the write up that helps alot any info is great and underide no offense taken, funny actually i did swell up a bit. I dont generally shoot pills or anything because of the risks obviously, thanks for saying its not a stupid thing to do but even though i would like to think its not i now its never a smart thing to attempt. Saying that though after watching a couple friends of mine shoot up morphine syrup i figured this must be alot less dangerous to do and while its still quite dumb i wanted to try it at least once to gauge the effects. I made sure to use a clean needle and disinfected the area with alcohol and peroxide. I did two injections on the right and left and took an anti-histimine 20min before. Oddly though the left side had zero swelling and i cant even see the pin mark. Right side swelling is gone but i can see the marks still.

I might try once more with my 60's so i can inject more at once with less water so i can maybe actually feel it this time. I was in w/d at the time and while there was no high it took me out of w/d sniffles went away and i was feelin normal. Anyways thanks for all the quick advice this is one of the reasons i love this site.

IVing pills, with their binders and fillers, is also unsafe, but the human body is better equipped to deal with it. It takes a relatively long time for the insolubles to accumulate in your lungs. If you insist on shooting pills, please be safe. Please use clean equipment, fresh needles, micron filters ("wheel filters") if possible. It may be easier said than done, but it's positively worth it in the end.

Yea that is some sick shit. What really boggles my mind is my buddy was banging morphine cough syrup in prison so hes not some genius chemist separating the morphine from the other shit. Yet he and his friend are completely fine.
