Ok- so what the hell is my problem? (Yes, I realize we could go on for days, so I'll narrow it down:)

My usual Oxy daily intake is upwards of 360 mgs... prescribed for the most part. Never had ANY stomach problems with them. (Unless of course I took too much at once, but that's MY fault.)

IV Morphine has also never given me any tummy probs... but every single time I take any MS Contin, whether whole or crushed, I get HORRIBLE (kill me now type) cramps and vomiting about an hour and a half after ingestion. I'm between pain docs, new one tomorrow- and supplementing until then. Today I chewed a 60, and within the hour and a half window, wished I was dead. I'm talking "worse than labor" cramps... not worth the ride, let me tell you! I don't usually fell any euphoria from these but today I did get a little "light headed" for a few minutes, but was in too much pain to enjoy it.

I hadn't taken any of these in a couple years, and today I remembered why... Anyone else have this problem? I'd just snort the damn things, but hate the gel... I'm a baby, sorry.

Thanks in advance!

(Oh- in case anyone had noticed- I apologize for my abscence... between the w/d, personal shit, and trying to find a new doc, and some serious depression- I just haven't felt very chatty. Hopefully I'm back now.)

That sounds aweful! I can't imagine what would be causing this. Is it possible that something else in the pills besides the morphine is causing these severe stomach problems?

I really don't get it. I've never heard of any opiate-tolerant person getting severe cramps and vomitting from Morphine Sulphate pills.

I hope somebody here has a possible explanation and can help you figure out what's going on.

Probably a dumb question, but is it possible that you're actually experiencing withdrawal symptoms?

60mg of oral morphine isn't much compared to >360mg (via any ROA) of oxycodone.

Have you had the same problem with different brands of morphine sulfate tablets?

Thanks Guys...

No- absolutely not w/d related. I've been off ALL opies for almost three weeks, due to the doc situation. Did a mad taper, and then suffered a couple days but fine ever since. I took the meds on a "medium" stomach- IE: had a bagel and tea this morning... a cupcake an hour before the pill. So- not too much food, but certainly enough.

I can't think that it would be a filler in the pill, but maybe- that's why I asked all of you esteemed members... LOL! I'm completely stumped, but I'll tell you, I will NEVER forget again. You can have these damned things!

Oh- and these were Mallie 60's... as were the last ones I'm pretty sure.

Thanks again, and keep the suggestions coming!

Kelly,

Ugh, It sounds like you have been going through hell the past few weeks I hope this new doctor helps you.

Not sure if I can give you any exact answers to your nausea but morphine has always had a tendency to make me feel ill. I have never had the severe abdominal pain like you did after ingesting MsContin but it's been awhile but here lately I have been dealing with tons of nausea and not sure what the cause is. I think some of it can be linked to stress but not sure because I get it often after I eat and the other day when I had a small amount of milk I was in the bathroom for nearly a hour throwing up and clutching on to my stomach cursing milk (figured I am lactose intolerant, I suppose) but it's not just milk it's been a few things.

Yours may not be be anything similar to mine and yours could be as a result of the MsContin it wouldn't surprise me but not sure if maybe stress could be making it more severe. Either way I hope you get prescribed something different by the new pain doctor and never have to deal with Ms Contins again get over the nausea soon I hate feeling nausea and that mouth watering feeling... ugh

Edit:
Also if you had some what of an allergy to them in the past maybe it has become worse? I know allergies develop or become worse in many people.

ah SORRY FORGOT about this one-
maintain for couple years on 2 MS100's Malies a day
TRULY only one way to get best bang for buck and avoid all stomach issue- yOU DO NOT want to go there
orally MORPHINE a very low BIO availability forgot like 30's - verse oxy 85ish
never had stomach issue at all, long legs of morph is great maintenance , mm not great pain control (unless spiked- don't do UNLESs very experience there)

BEST SUGGESTION i CAN THINK OF IS DROP PILL A GLASS OF WATER WITH A BIT OF VINEGAR, trying to duplicate (JUST a bit of stomach environment) let sit 12 hours in frig, stir ,fuck whenever)
12hours later drink your MORPHINE waste with LIGHT food soda cracker & banana
willing to bet this will work for more pleasant and effective use avoiding the pukes:(
MORPHINE is just hard on stomach, and your very sensitive to that.
or geez one step down from spike would be -err ah how shall I politely say PLUGGING to a pretty woman. obvious location completely avoids stomach an bio is double
hope this may help in future, you may find give the shit state of medical community/ DEA
MS is going to be shove down throat by Docs , scare of anything OXY enter DEA INTO PRACTICE
yea dumb, dumb, dumb, but reality in US
OC = evil in many growing % of Docs

I type for shit- so i go nap now- took 45 minutes for this -lol:D
