comparing ER's with IR's

how would you compare opana, ER's verses the IR's, inhaled nasally..
like the high, feelings, legs.. and so on?
since swim has only tried the ER's, hes been wondering this.

OK. I've had both.

This is a hard comparison.

Seems like the IRs give me more of a warm-stomach high, very fuzzy and comfy.
However the ER's are more of a body-mind high, not as fuzzy and warm, but with legs. It made me nod the fuck out, whereas the IRs never did that for me.

IMO, the ER's definitely have longer legs...but it's a pain in the ass scraping all the outer layer off. For me the IR's were more just good for staying well while I used the ER's for the high. I sure do miss my Opanas...hope my doc will script them for me again!

hey ick it feels to me that the ER's take awhile to kick in also, whats your take on this?

Ya know you are right.. they do take longer to kick in. I mean, the IR's are freaking instantaneous!

I was just put on the pink endo 10mg Opana IR's for my Crohn's disease since it isn't getting any better and we are trying alternate meds....I had been opiate clean for 2 years, but it's just one of those things that if i wanna get better, I have to take something....The IRs are amazing though, help with my pain immediately. I think they are way better IMO than the ERs simply for the fact that they act so quickly...he's got me on 10mg 4xday....


are these going to help with my crohn's you think or will I need a higher dosage or maybe a diff. med? Thanks in advance for anyone and everyones input!

Er's are better for some reason. The pink 10 ir's have a TON of buffer and are bigger than the 40 mg er's !

take whatever makes u feel better,if u need more tell the doc and hopefully he'll help u get the right dosage.

From what I've read, oxymorphone is stronger than hydromorphone (Dilaudid) - but they say the 10mg opana IR is equal to 8mg dilaudid.

Orally hydromorphone is stronger, IV oxymorphone is stronger.
