Can anyone reccomend a rehab center near the burgh or anywhere in west pa?

The cat is finally out of the bag with my family(was able to keep it a secret for a good two years), so I'm just asking you fellow opio heads if you know of any good detox centers/rehab centers in the area. I know there are probably a good amount, but if anyone could post their experiences with ones they have been to, whether it was a good or bad experience, please do.

I'd really appreciate it cause I'm just trying to avoid the ones that seem more like jail than a place to get sober. I ran out of one here in TX the other day because it was literally RIGHT next door to one of my dealers apartments. I'm not staying at a place where I could hope the fence, or tie a line from window to window and score.

Thanks in advance

it's so silly how so many adult people's families find out they get high
and then force them into rehab or detox
i gotta wonder... has that ever actually worked?
any success stories from being forced into rehab by mom n pop?

as for your ? i don't know PA from any of the other flyover states :D

I have only been to one place here in PA and that was a few weeks ago just for 6 days but while I was there I heard very good things about White Deer Run.

This site has a locator service for treatment centers, Sub docs, and many other services you may need. I suggest starting there. There is a boatload of excellent information and referral information to be had on this site.

That definitely bothers me too. It's become like a standard family reaction for most people when they find out there's a drug addict in the family.

Their adult son or daughter has a drug dependency (notice I didn't say "problem") and rehab seems like the simple answer to that problem.

They just ASSUME that it's a problem therefore it needs to be "fixed". There is quite a level of ignorance to it if you ask me. Just watch "Intervention" on A and E. I can't stand to sit more than 5 minutes through that show. Ridiculous.

I think alot of it stems from people feeling terrible because they know they are hurting the people that love them. Not really any of our places to judge IMO

Pretty much no matter how a person ends up in rehab be it forced or voluntary no one wants to be there.
I was voluntary and was damn close to leaving Florida after one week and then again at three yet there were a few people on court order who were happy to stay and not because jail was the alternative.
Once the drugs are out of your system the most stubborn person might find it isn't so bad.

rehab never worked for me
i didn't like someone telling me "no you CAN'T do drugs"
if someone tells me i can't do something, i'm gonna fucking do it
when i was running the streets after i first got clean, i most certainly could get high
i had a real choice, and it gave me the opportunity to make the right choice for myself
instead of sitting in some shitty meeting thinking "damn i wish i could get some dope"
i'm 20 feet from the dope house knowing that if i don't score, it's because i didn't want to
hell there's people here getting high all the time right now, if i wanted to i'd have free shit in my hand
i just don't, because it's up to me

basically i don't like being told what to do by fucking anyone

hey hey, flyover state?! Come to PA and say that shit and see what happens! jk, i have been reading too many youtube comments and people starting shit. I wouldnt say its a flyover state like say... Ohio, Carolinas, or Iowa.

As far as a rehab NOT to goto in western PA... Abraxis(sp?), My exgf was sentenced to that place like 7 years ago by court, and its like a drug rehab and behavioral rehab in one. Each location is 1 gender, so hers was all females who had daily chores, couldnt smoke, and had to dress up like catwoman every other thursday. Maybe not the last part but they had some retarded rules
