So last year, I got shot in the shoulder, cracked my collar bone and tore some of the tendents on it as it glanced off. Got a lot of meds and what not, put them into a SentrySafe 1100. Contents included several OC 20s and lots of 10/325s perkys. I forgot about these, and stumbled upon the safe the other day. Couldnt find the key. Least to say, it was the angriest find in my house to date. Recently my patches havent been helping with the pain too much, and I figured what the hell, Ill grab a couple of paper clips and hit up youtube and see what flops on to my screen. 10 minutes later, I have enough to clog my GI up into next year. I am happy. In another 30 or so minutes, I am going to be VERY happy. I had to share, I know if I called up one of my sisters and been like guess what and told them this story, I'd end up in a rehab clinic. I even had some Hydromorphone tablets issued to me, not sure what to do with those those, they suck orally and I am not going to shoot them. Dont need to go down that road.

This is embarrassing but I have broke into those SentrySafes so many times without my spouse knowing. (paper clips) (one time I was able to turn it with my finger nail) :o He would be confused as to how I would still come up short. :p He figured it soon enough told me he didn't know how but knew I was a sneaky little shit and did away with the safe. He has more control then me with some of the medication though I am better with the long acting or with morphine (I hate morphine and I normally let him have it). But I am partial to the shorting acting meds.

Glad you are getting some relief!

Congrats on the find!!!

I have a lockbox that I put most of my stuff in and when I bought it, it said something like hard to break into, keep the thieves away...something to the effect of it was not gonna be easy to break into. Lost my key the other day and a friend had it opened in less than 2 minutes with a dental pick.

After I looked up on youtube on how to make a rake pick with a paper clip, I had that puppy open in under a minute. Those things are not theif proof in anyway. Or at least at the very miniumum not pain med proof.

Glad you're feeling better... and you KNOW tomorrow you're gonna stumble upon the key...

Funny story about those safes: My ex NEVER broke into houses, he'd rather hit a bank and be done with it. But... he was wired and bored one night and decided what the hell...? He came home with a "fire safe" and enough other good shit to make us believe we needed to get into that safe, right damned now. Took about 30 seconds... and all it yielded was a bunch of home made porn tapes... and not very good ones at that. That was the last house he hit... LOL! Banks are better, quicker, and relatively safe compared to residential. Although- Pawn shops are fun too.

Oh- and for anyone concerned... I'm not telling any tales that all the cops on the west coast aren't already aware of. You don't get 13 years for stealing flowers, right? And all of his bank runs were way before and way after I was in the picture. I HAD to draw the line somewhere, ya' know?

None of those wafer tumbler or other keyed safes are safe! The safest bet you got is a gun safe, electronic (number) safe, biometric (thumb/eye) safe, orr a tubular lock. Tubular locks are still pickable but not as easy.. I've gotten oxys + liquid oxy out of a sentry safe before! I actually started hobby lockpicking after learning how to make the simple rake pick/tension wrench out of paper clips. I got a dremel and windshield wiper inserts and followed schematics and now I have a whole set! :) It's actually a lot of fun..

The hubs and I were packing the night before an out of country trip when he realized that our passports were locked in the fire-proof safe and he couldn't find the key. Panic! He ended up drilling into the lock to get the safe open. Ruined the safe but saved the vacation. lol

Man,I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's more likely your tolerance having gone up than a problem with your pills.

You could always try taking more............strangely folks always like it when I give that advice.

I doubt it's expired... How long has it been in the safe? You mentioned you were on the patch though.... I have a feeling tolerance is playing a bigger role in your ability to catch a decent buzz.

Mmm, well once this is out of my system Ill try bumping it up. Im chomping on them so I dont want to make any too drastic moves with them. And yes, Im on the patches, although Im trying to get away from those right now to. I dont like the way they make me feel, and I always hallucinate mildly with them.

Don't know if you have the safe anymore, but to save it couldn't you go to a hardware store and buy another lock for it. They have those round ones that will probably fit into the hole very easily.

I just want to say that yes I have the same exact safe and while sitting here bored I made a silly decision to try the paperclip thing, even though I had no real good reason to open it this way (as in "I have the key").

So away I go, trying with all my might, almost getting it a few times and then suddenly "Snap" as the bottom clip snaps its piece off into the lock. I try everything I can to get it out .. gently jostling .. trying to hook it .. putting a little bit of gum on the end of another clip to try and stick it to pull it out. Nothing works and in the process Ive shoved this small piece further into the lock. Well to make the rest of the story short, I panicked and shoved the key into the lock as far as I could to try to at least open it. After a few panic stricken near-failures, it finally turned over, giving me access to the important contents. Now the lock is destroyed. But at least I got inside it.

I guess that be a lesson to any would be lock picker. Dont pick a lock that you cant afford to loose the functionality to. ha! :)

Alot of the smaller cheaper safes are not to hide expensive things in, Nor are they to sit around where people can easily access them. For instance if you hide your your pills in one of those $50 safes. They are to keep important stuff to YOU in them, not valuables like drugs, jewelry or money.

Not everyone carries around the proper tools to break into a safe especially one that probably has just family documents in it unless you known whats in it. A good safe is one of the very heavy ones that take 3-4 people to move and either retinal/temp scan(expensive)

Homemade porn tapes!? LOL! Well, that could have probably made some good black mail money :P
Yeah... we thought about that too for a minute... especially since the girl in the tapes didn't seem to be his wife, LOL! The ex said that there were pics of "he and she" on the dresser... and the "she" in the tapes was NOT the "she" in the photos. But... in the tapes HE was wearing a wedding ring and SHE wasn't... so it didn't take a PHD to figure THAT one out! Kinda ballsy to keep the tapes in the house with his wife, but whatever, ya' know?

LMAO... That would be my luck! :p

Now how much of it did you watch? ;)

Honestly? Less than 10 minutes, really! I'm all for a good porn-o, but these were so bad I couldn't even watch them. All I kept saying was, "THIS is the girl-friend? The WIFE must REALLY be lousy in bed if THIS is the chick he's cheating with..." LOL! I swear- they were worse than the infamous Paris Hilton tapes. I truly don't think the girl could have possibly been any less interested in what she was doing... poor little man. That's what he gets for cheating on his wife! I wanted to just give HER the tapes and let her deal with him however she saw fit... but the ex wouldn't let me... jerk.

Most of those safes are total pieces of shit. My friend had a $225 dollar safe that weighed 400bs and was bolted to the floor. I took my Benelli M4 and emptied the tube with door breaching rounds and there as a huge clean whole right through that thing.

I dont remember if it was at my father's private practice office (onocology) or the office next to him of which i dont remember what kind of practice, they all use massive massive safes to put their prescription pads/receipts in, there in office meds such as various pain meds, oncology meds, lots and lots of samples of the expensive stuff, and the things that a theif would want in a doctors office. They used a door bumper to knock down the door to the office (office was on the second floor), and ran to the safe after looking around the office for a bit.

They loaded the safe onto a dolly after some struggling, moved it to the stairs, and pushed it down. It rolled down the stairs and went straight through a brick wall and out into the offices' yard. It sat their in the yard, and a big van came up and they tried to load it up into the van, but ended up having to run because it was taking to long. So the police end up rolling up and seeing a massive safe sitting next to a hole in a building, and a little wake of destruction up to the office it came from.

Figured Id share the story, since its about safes and somewhat amusing.

SCORE!!! Oh I'm sooo jealous, and I don't really even use percs, and personally prefer 40s or 80s when it comes to OCs...

Nevertheless, I would never look a gift horse in the mouth (whatever that means), and would probably take a couple days off of work, turn my phone off, hit Costco for a shitload of junkfood, and stockpile a bunch of movies - StarWars, LOTR, whatever, just something good in a series.

Guess what I'm saying is I would (ab)use this to the utmost extent, and try and make the most of such a fortunate find... lucky bastard :). Have fun!

Nevertheless, I would never look a gift horse in the mouth (whatever that means)

Looking in a horse's mouth -- at their teeth -- is a way to determine a horse's age, and thus value. The proverb is saying to not examine a gift when you receive it, ya know, don't try to see how much its worth, just be grateful for getting it.

I was just about to post what "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" meant. Where did you learn the meaning of the phrase? i got it off of a history channel tv show.

Its amazing how easy locks and safes are to get into if you know what your doing.
I can pick a house lock in about 20sec.
Even safes are easy most safes you buy at discount stores are fire safes and arent really made to deture a burgler they dont even have hard plate in front of the lock so its easy to drill.
Burgler safes and vault doors are rated for the time it would take a theif to open it.The highest rating is only 30mins(mabe 45mins.)but I think its 30min.So if you have the right tools and know what your doing safes are easy but then after you get the valt door open you still have to deal with the safty deposit boxs witch aren't easy to pick but are easy to punch
Thats what I heard at least:D
Whats funny is that car doors are very hard to pick(house doors and padlocks are easy) they'er double sided so you have to pick two sets of pins at the same time thats why people use slimjims instead
