I got a question for you all. SWIM has done all sorts of prescription opiates for chronic back pain. For awhile he even got some vials of morphine. SWIM had never done IV before for fear of screwing up his veins but he figured since this stuff was meant to be injected it was safe. Well SWIM worked up the dose gradually but was always disapointed cause there was a definate high but the side effects sucked ass. He felt allot of nausea and a sort of icky feeling, not like oxy. SWIM has never done heroin but knows it's probably one of the best opie that has been made, but heroin converts into morphine when it hits the brain so why are they so different in how they feel if there so similar?

"heroin converts into morphine when it hits the brain so why are they so different in how they feel if there so similar?"
heroin is more lipophyllic than morphine, meaning it more readily dissolves in fatty tissue in the body. also it crosses the blood brain barrier more readily than morphine. true it is converted into morphine, but if administered IV, IM, insufflated, or smoked it reaches the brain and binds to opiod receptors before it is converted. if it is taken orally though it is mostly converted into morphine before it reaches the brain so therefore it's effects are nearly the same as morphine.

In other words, yes, even if both are IV'd heroin still does the dirty work much faster...
Hit the wiki for some decent non-to-semi-technical data...

I'm no chemist but I hate morphine because it takes too long and the rush is heavier and tinglier... heroin is never tingly and comes faster... but that's just my experience

Hmmm... would I turn it down...? Well, that depends; you offering? If so, I'll be there in a minute. If not, of course I'd turn it down.
How dare you doubt my sincerity?

I'm suprised more vials of morph arent on the streets. They use that stuff allot in hospices and care homes since it's so cheap and doctors are so used to using it. Hell just the other day my g/f was in the hospital for some bad digestion problems and they shot her up right there with it. Twenty years ago though you had to be practically dying or have cancer to get it. Maybe there realizing opiates arent as evil as the government claims.
